Curtis Mathes Color Television Model H1950MW, IDAK, Revolt of the Androids, Lost in Space, Episode aired Mar 8, 1967, In the second of two sequels to The Android Machine (1966), Verda's sheltered by the Robinsons after she's marked for destruction by the Celestial Department Store. Wow that really is a good picture for the time period. We had a great Zenith TV in the 1970s. I miss those UHF channels wfld Chicago.

to us old timers we can tell the different. on the screen here you have depth. on new flat screens you can "just tell", everything is laying on top like paper dolls. or the voice mouth is off a bit. thanks for posting.

"Most expensive TV in America, and darn well worth it". We had a Curtis Mathes come into our TV shop once. A cross reference told us which RCA schematic to use which was from an RCA about two years older than the Curtis Mathes. So it was basically a two year old RCA design and it was built with cheaper parts. Where RCA used 5% resistors, the Curtis Mathes used 10% as an example. That's the power of marketing, make a cheap product, mark up the price, brag about the higher price, and people buy it.

Curtis Mathes stopped making TVs on its own in 1988. The name was still used for rebranded imports by K-Mart and some other retailes, but the original Curtis Mathes TV line essentially died in 1988. It was the last fully domestically-produced brand of televisions in the U.S.

I was always a Magnavox guy. I think Curtis Mathis is currently based in Frisco Texas but was originally based somewhere else in Texas, maybe Midland? I mentioned Frisco because Jerry Jones is based out of Frisco. I'd bet he's got his fingers in that pie.

The picture on this TV in real life will be even better looking than what you see on this video. When you take a video of a analog TV's picture the picture on the video comes out a bit fuzzy. I can tell when actually watching this TV the picture will be excellent. I have a old TV from 1986 and its picture is crap compared to this TV.

We had a Curtis Mathes when I was a small boy. My mom hated that TV with a passion. She wouldn't let my dad bring it back in the house it staied in garage till it was taken away to the dump.
