Marcus Allen and the Raiders take on Curt Warner and the Seahawks in the AFC Title Game. Seattle swept the Raiders during the year, but this game would turn out to be a different story.

This game will always be special to me. My mom and dad were getting ready to fly out of the country for a wedding the next day. I was 7 and feeling down, so my dad took me to the store (Gemco) and let me pick out a toy. I remember coming home all excited to set up my hot wheels race track and this game was on tv. I ended up watching the game instead. Just one of those random memories that I have spending time with my dad.

Yeah and they didn't drop like flys to injuries like they do now and the game was more violent back then...I personally don't believe today's injuries are all real injuries I think these guys get paid to act injured to balance games out because of gambling becoming legal it's all perception now...have you not noticed how every year the raiders defense never plays intact by mid season half the team is already injured and because of that it's the reason why the raiders don't win because they don't have the QB who can overcome the injuries so the raiders go through the same cycle it's a pattern they use as their excuse every year and so they stay at 6 to 7 wins a year...it will happen again this year just watch you will see what I mean and organization knows this but won't do nothing to change it I guess the organization is getting paid to be mahomes sidekick like the NFL is saying please don't ruin our golden boy from bringing the NFL money we need our super stars to constantly shine.

Not only that Chris, but the Raiders as a collective team! In that era, they always seemed to raise their game to another level during the playoffs! And '83 was no different! When completely healthy, the Raiders could beat anyone anytime anywhere! Still to this day blows me away that of the 20 greatest SB champions ranked by the America's Game series, this Raiders squad was rated the lowest of those 20! That ranking is a travesty! The way that Raiders team controlled both sides of the line of scrimmage at the end of that season, to me, their '83 squad maybe one of the 10 best one-season teams in NFL history! That team doesn't get the credit they fully deserve and for that matter neither does Marcus Allen! The fact that he was only ranked #85 of the 100 Greatest Players Ever on NFL Network shows how little those who voted value opinion! Allen hands down was not only the best inside-the-20 RB of all-time, he should have at least been rated in the Top 40 overall! #85 is just asinine!

Like Howie Long said in the '83 Raiders America's Game documentary, and he put it best - "Mike Haynes was so athletically gifted, it was boring"!

I was at this game. We had seats in the stands at one end zone. I was one of those cretins running around on the field after the game. The crowd (not me) knocked over the goal posts, as you can see at the very end. I just pulled up a handful of the grass in the end zone that was painted silver. What a fun game to see live. I was hoarse for a week from screaming/cheering so loudly.

My dad and three cousins and I drove down to cheer on our Seahawks. As a young teen that was an eye opening experience seeing the fans after the game. We were up high at the opposite end of the field from where the goalpost was knocked down. We saw the officer get beaned on the head by a beer bottle someone threw down and get choppered out of there.

I was there. Drove down from Burlington WA to watch my Raiders get revenge for the 2 losses to Seattle earlier that season. This game was over before it started. The Seahawks were intimidated, scared, and way overmatched. The Raiders came out ready to beat some serious ass & they were not afraid to get a few personal fouls along the way. Lol

I was in attendance with my mom, brother and aunt… along with 92k others. Great day!!. One of the most memorable parts of the day occurred in the aftermath. As the clock hit zero, NOBODY had left the game (out of character for LA crowds back then). What ensued was entertaining chaos involving LAPD in riot gear and on horseback trying to keep the crowd from tearing down the goalposts. Tackles made after the game by Event Staff rivaled that which occurred during it. Lol

Has any RB in NFL history ever had three games in the postseason like Marcus Allen had in January of 1984?? 121- yards /2TD against Pittsburgh,154Rush/62 Recand 1TD - Seattle and 191 and 2 TD in Super Bowl against Washington. Incredible performance!!!!!!! Sadly the Raiders haven’t won a Super Bowl in 40 years. Just heard Dave Kreig on the Mark Ryan Radio Program 12-27-2023 recounting the win over Miami on the road one week earlier. Didn’t hear him say he was pulled in the Raider game??

They beat the Chargers 30-14 the last game of the year, the beat Pittsburgh 38-10 in the first playoff game, then this game they also won 30-14, and the won the Superbowl 38-9. Only a blocked extra point kept these last 4 game scores from being balanced. Damn you Don Hasselbeck!
