I bought one of these at the flea market cheap because it wouldn't pump up. I took it home and put about a teaspoon full of 91% alcohol in the pumping mechanism and let it soak for a day to let the seals swell up again. I dumped the alcohol out and I sprayed some silicone spray in the mechanism. When I fired the gun a lot of black gunk came out the muzzle for the first few shots. The gun holds air pretty good now. I may put an upgrade piston in it in the future but for now I'm just having fun shooting it. Thanks for the videro.

I loved that pistol. Got mine in 1984, what I loved about those was the magnetic probe there. You could shoot bbs or pellets. The one now only pellets.i had the leather holster for it too. Just a great air pistol. The only draw back. Not very backyard friendly, has a pretty loud pop to it. Out in the country though, no big deal

My first airgun. I had the stock, my cuz had the holster. Crosman pellets at the time were called " Pells" and came out with the nicer ones a year or two after I bought it. It was stolen along with a Crosman 357. I received a new 1377 from my mom about ten years ago with the plastic breech and stock. took it out a couple months ago and something happened and the breech failed at the screw. I looked into fixing it and found parts on eBay for it and it's back running for under thirty bucks with an upgraded port . And actually looking forward to a few other upgrades. While searching for parts, I found a brand new, still sealed, original steel breech 1377 form the early eighties. I'm in heaven at this point and have not set it free yet and admiring it like the kid at Sportmart in 1984. There is something enchanting about the breech cover and pulling back the hammer, over just sliding the bolt back on the newer ones. Happy shooting and thanks for the video!

Man you have cool guns, I hope you keep getting more subscribers. Anyway, I had one of those pistols back in the early '80's too. I don't have it anymore, I honestly can't remember what I did with it. Maybe it quit working or something, I don't know. But I do remember how much fun it was, and how accurate it was. I do still have my old Crosman 38T, which is a 6 shot pellet revolver that uses CO2. It wasn't as powerful as the 1377 but it is a lot of fun. It quit working a few years ago and I found a repair/seal kit on ebay, and repaired it so now it's shooting again!

@@airgunsofalaska I found it, 1377 American Classic .177, plastic breach # 881240545. I’m sure I bought it in ‘81 but could be ‘82 I guess. Did some indoor ballistics testing last night (forgot how much fun that is!). Starts to hiss on about the fourth pump so, needs a kit but still very accurate!
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska 2 ай бұрын
@@rong4189 Right on! I’m pretty certain yours is an ‘81. Your serial # indicates it was built in August of 1981. I’d try oiling it with Pellgun out and keep shooting it. There’s a chance it might revive the seals and it’d work properly again. If not the parts are available to reseal it and there are videos on line with how to do it. I’ve never resealed one of these so I don’t have any first hand knowledge but I did replace the pump handle on one and driving out and reinstalling the roll pins was a hassle. I thinking the big roll pin at the pivot needs to be driven out and then the pump linkage and piston can be removed. I need to do the same thing on my ‘81 Crosman 760 as it also has the hiss and that one won’t shoot full power.

@@Sawlon mine has a rifled barrel and is set up from the factory to shoot either pellets or BB’s. Quite a few .177 cal airguns to this day allow for BB’s or pellets through rifled steel barrels. @@airgunsofalaska Even if you put lock tight (I have tried) it won´t help. Crosman should make two holes on the grips. One is not enough for such large grip area.

@airgunsofalaska Жыл бұрын
@@morriszachrisson8359 two screw holes per grip would definitely be better. I noticed the stock on my Drifter wiggled around while pumping as it kind of clicks into place and has a spring loaded push tab that holds it at the top of the grip. I replaced the original stock with an older Crosman model that used the grip screws. Now my stock is much more solid.

I have this same variant and its a Nov 85 edition. Ive been researching to upgrade the breech to a steel one but the cost is quite high. I was informed that I'd have to change my barrel as well. I found a first variant steel breech and barrel but i believe it wont work on the second variant. Even switch to the plastic newer style breech requies a barrel change also. So im stuck on replacing my variant 2 breech. Id even be happy with an original variant #2 breech. Any ideas where i could find one?
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska Жыл бұрын
From what I’ve read in the past, it’s not really cost effective to modify this model to a steel breech since you also have to change out the cocking mechanism. Seems like the common thought is it’s just easier to buy a current model and install a steel breech on it. I installed a Crosman steel breech on my 2289 Drifter and used the stock barrel. These guns are unique with their loading port and cocking mechanism and worth more money in original condition. I’d leave it stock and enjoy it for what it is and buy either a new or used modern version and modify it. Something to be aware of, the steel breech isn’t perfect. Pellets tend to snag on the breech screw. The original plastic breech actually feeds more smoothly. Also, if your ‘85 shoots BB’s as well you’d lose that option as I don’t believe the steel breech comes with a magnetic tip on the probe. Someone likely makes something but again additional money for the conversion. I don’t believe the modern 1377’s shoot BB’s anymore.
@RedneckPunk
@RedneckPunk Жыл бұрын
The steel or plastic breech can be used with them and still have the cocking pinball knob. My buddy did his like that. He just had to use his old brass magnet bolt and put a lever in it to ensure his seal. But he definitely had to change barrels. He just made it a 22 caliber and put a 14 inch barrel and a suppressor on it as well. I'd just like to find the same breech it came with due to this old one being damaged slightly by previous owners..
