Man, I miss Eighties baseball. It had everything -- top pitching, power, speed, flashy defense. So much to watch, to think about, to appreciate. Excellence all round. And every season had at least one tense division race and the post season play was always top notch.

Much better than the home run or nothing game they play today.

I never was a fan of Joe Garragiola. But he's 10 times better than 95% of the announcers today.

Tom Seaver is a very sharp baseball mind. He absolutely nails it in his pre-game breakdown. It’s like he’s already watched this entire series.

He was spot on about Gary Matthews. Sarge went on to win the series MVP.

Larry Andersen and Darren Daulton would be a part of both the 1983 Phillies and the 1993 Phillies.

37:42-37:48 Horrible call at 1st base. Steve Sax was safe by a mile! If that happened today it would have been overturned

A little baffled that this game didn't sell out (per baseball-reference.com) considering the Dodgers had a pretty good attendance that year.

Does anybody know why Lasorda put Brock in to pinch hit against a southpaw?!?
@michaelholman517minKC Жыл бұрын
Brock came in on a double switch with Niedenfuer. Brock went to the 9 hole and Niedenfuer took Marshall's spot.

This series sucked. I was in 9th grade and this business friend of my dad from Philadelphia came over to talk smack about the Dodgers. I told him by the end of the series I'd laugh in his face. He came back over to visit me after the series and I rebuked him for coming back over to laugh in my face.

Sorry Scully & Joe fans but Ashburn & Kalas call Phillies games. You guys talk far too much.
