@@Aleminimarkett no you know he doesn't think they are the exact same, but it's a good example of the start of extreme censorship. History has been altered severely to change the mind of the young within the education system. They don't teach us about our true origins like Greece, and Troy for example. The tribe of Dan and the scandinavians etc. The news media directly lie to us and use a simplistic language just like news speak in the novel. There are a ton of charecteristics in 1984 that ressemble real ones in the modern world. It's not there yet, but it will be something similar im sure of it.

Net neutrality in a nutshell and it's only the beginning. They can manipulate influences make others look insane or pressure them to it and lose credibility. They have power to swerve half truths and commit the very same crimes as the ones they lock up daily but will always cover their bs unless they come to agreements with important individuals in trade agreements.

1984 is a great story in my opinion as it still has a relevant meaning today despite the fact that in was made in the late 40's I think that this is more true when you looked at the Soviet Union or modern day china as both controlled most parts in civilian life another parallel could be drawn to modern day America considering the use of media stirring up the people for a political party in democracy, 1984 warns us against the idea of totalitarianism and the kind of society that it can induce and with modern day technology I am surprised that more people did really find this video.

Not necessarily, I recommend reading his other book Homage to Catalonia. It gives you a real in depth look to the ideology he was fighting for in the Spanish civil war which is an anarchist-socialist or mutualist style of democracy which in theory is very hard for power to corrupt. The problem with it( and why his side lost) is that because everyone is so individualistic they weren’t very organized.

@@jocko1283 it's a social construct because we decide to give it value. But is that really a bad thing? We have tried other alternatives, socialism for example, multiple times and all of them have failed. Why do you think the countries that practiced them no longer use it? It is one of those ideas that sound good in paper but translate horribly in execution. Not everyone will be good people and there will always be power hungry people who take it whenever they can. With that, socialism effectively achieves the opposite of what it's supposedly should do

@DRY06LIGHTNING 2 жыл бұрын
@@Lucas-sk5lu the problem is that your oversimplifying, there are literally zero countries that are 100% socialist and zero that are 100% capitalist. Every country has a mixed market economy. Where they differ is in how many industries are socialized vs how many are free market. For some industries it’s better for them to be socialized. (Military, police, healthcare, education, post office, power utilities) the countries that have these services socialized tend to outperform those that don’t. And it is clear why; these industries are far too important and too easy to monopolize, thus making them social makes them more universally accessible and cost effective. Other industries are better off being capitalized (manufactured goods, services ) as they while important, are not so important that they can be easily monopolized. So it’s not as simple as socialism= bad capitalism= good or vice-versa. Bernie sanders is not socialist even though he claims to be. Only in America would he seem so extreme. He’s a run of the mill social Democrat, which are common in Scandinavia or similar to the NDP in Canada. His overall economic views are actually more capitalist than socialist in totality, although compared to the standard American politician his mixed market economy does have a vastly higher amount of industries socialized. But still far less than 50%.
