This team was good enough to go to SB. Would they have beaten the bears ? Probably not but should never have lost to the patriots. The raiders being a consistent winning franchise ended after this season.

The teams that were wasted on Marc Wilson. People think JaMarcus was bad and he was but he didn't really try to be a pro. Wilson was just pathetic and he actually tried and those teams he QB'ed won inspite of him when they could. He was great at BYU but his game didn't translate to the NFL at all. Those teams could've won a couple of Superbowls easy.

These were some dark days for the Broncos, going to the Superbowl and losing.

yep Broncos were going down the same path as the Vikings in the 70's and then Buffalo follwed the Broncos into Super Bowl futility in the 90's. Elway salvaged his post season career with those two NFL titles in the late 90's.

Such a crazy wide open year in the AFC with Denver losing 2 OT games to the Raiders that year. It’s crazy to think that a Broncos team that might have gone to the SB missed the playoffs joining the 67 Colts and 08 Patriots as the only teams with 11 wins ever to miss the playoffs but they made up for 1985 in a huge way the next two years

@@DanStrayerDenver fan here, you are absolutely right, Super Bowls XXI and XXII would've been a better matchup between Cleveland and the Giants or the Redskins. Cleveland 's defense back then was like the NFC defense, Elway just had the magic, Hall of Fame, Kosar was hot too and just came up short. Poor Byner, should of been two straight AFC Championship Games to go into overtime between the Browns and Broncos.

For this game Marc Wilson had a passer rating of 26.9 and Elway had a passer rating of 36.6. 7 interceptions between the two.

Raiders had the 6th highest winning pot in the 1980's, and were 12th in the 1990's. I'd hardly call that "trash since 83".

You said they have been trash since 1983, which is not true. 2003, 20 years later was when their decline began. From 1980 to 2002 the Raiders were in the top 10 winning pctg in the NFL. I'm 56 son, I've been watching football longer than you've been alive. Fk outta here..
