The Barry Hofsteader bit was such classic RCR - only very loosely related to the car at hand, if at all, mocking of stereotypes, digressed into belches and farts, but got more and more philosophically deep. If this channel ever gets to being only about reviewing cars themselves it will lose all meaning.

Man under the unproven assumption that this is a Gemballa, I still couldn’t rack up the courage to drive this. The “no paper trail” history of it makes it so much more important to the story of Gemballas rise and fall. This thing is a worth a fortune in my eyes. But with even a smidge of proof, it would be priceless.

This thing looks like one of the cars on those traveling fair carousels broke free and is stalking the countryside. The only thing it's missing is that 70s gold/green paint with heavy metallic flakes in it.

I saw this car at Carlisle! It looks even crazier in person. It was shocking to hear that it was a one-off when the owner told us at the show! Thanks for the review, it really gave me some more insight into how weird Gemballa was and how this car came to be in the states. I never knew that the original plaque was stolen, that sucks. Also, The XL1 you reviewed a few years ago was at the same show, that thing was batshit insane to see in person.
