Another great tip regarding the chain is put some thin layer silicone on the locking clip. That also works great for it to not come loose. It must be completely free from grease when apply it of course. Master video!

Another great video. Always enjoy watching new releases. New problems, processes, solutions. Love it. I will have to track down one of those brake plier tools as they would be very hand addition to the ever expanding toolkit. Can't have too many tools

Another interesting video, thanks. Suzuki used the same chain guard on a few models (Part number 61310-27A01) the one fitted is the same as a slabside.

Thanks for the info Ralph! You’re saying this chain guard is actually correct ? I assumed it was too long .
@ralphharrison12743 ай бұрын
Yes this is the correct chain guard.

Another great video, Stuart. Watching this has made me start on mine again. I need to do the fork seals. There leaking, and i think theres not enough oil in them because I took it out yesterday, and it bottoms out when I hit a bump. I'm actually really looking forward to doing them....well until I start. You know how that goes. Cheers

Yes James, i know well. Forks are a messy job

Looks like you’re in your element there u would really think the manufacturers would at least anodise the brake calipers to reduce corrosion that white rust is a proper bugger in fact u could prob do it yourself except I don’t know how the anodise would go on existing corrosion Enjoying this channel especially as I was heavily into my bikes when the gixxer hit the stores and were popular even had a gixxer race series down here in NZ with the odd RG 500 thrown in as well cheers

Nice addition to the collection with the new super light weight KTM. What I’m wondering is if the one in one out rule comes into play here.
@true-moto-resto3 ай бұрын
LOL, actually Don, the lightweight KTM is going back to Marc. Just no room for it, i thought it was goin gto ba. 2D item i could wall mount, but its 3D and takes up too much room

The brake calipers are really surprising , considering the the outside looks fairly o.k but the inside was a grimy nightmare .

Yea overall a bit of a mess, but they were better than I expected

Hi. Can I ask a question. I am restoring an 1985 GSXR 750 and want to paint the wheels. Can I ask you how you stripped the paint off your wheels? I was thinking of using paint stripper. Did you cover this in one of the previous episodes? Thanks
@true-moto-resto3 ай бұрын
Hi Stuart, yes I covered that in a previous episode. I used paint stripper to remove the paint, sanded them with 400, then epoxy coated them (they’re aluminium), then painted them.

Thanks for info and quick reply. I saw the jigs you used when painting the wheels. I am going to try and make something similar. I am really enjoying your videos. I am learning heaps and builds my confidence for working on my bike. What could possibly go wrong :)
