I would take a better look at that crank, it looked out for sure. Do you use any gasket adhesive when installing the new gaskets? Thanks for the great content.

Ya I might be looking to have it looked at by a machine shop or keep my eye out for another motor. Haven’t tried to fire it up yet. Been waiting on the water pump gasket.

You should start making yz vids again also where do you get all your parts from and what transmission/ crankcase oil do you use for it.
@bigair0176

That project I abandoned because of how much it was going to cost. There was so much wrong with it and I couldn’t find a parts bike to make it cheaper to fix. Sorry about that dude. I did use transmission oil that was ok for wet clutches.

I’ve been looking all over online to figure out what the part is called that comes off the spacer between intake and the carb. It’s a barb with a hose that goes to a plastic box thing (as shown in your video ) my bike just has the barn and I don’t know what to connect it to. Any advice on part name or if I can just put a breather filter on it ? Thanks !

Check out partzilla.com. They have schematics and photos and all the oem parts I’m sure you are looking for. They are awesome and if it’s in stock they ship pretty quick. When your looking just type in the year and model and there will be about 10 different area of the bike with lists of parts and photos. I have no doubt you will find it on the website. Hope that is helpful. Cheers

How do you remove the clutch shaft? Haynes does not explain it and no one on KZfaq has anything on how to remove that shaft before that one ball bearing.

Ya I know the feeling. There are some items online. Partzilla is a decent source online to buy from. They sell both oem and aftermarket parts at a reasonable price. They were fast to ship to which I liked and I live in Canada. Other option is your local Yamaha dealer. You could also keep your eyes peeled for a parts bike. As long as you don’t have a ton of parts that you need it shouldn’t be to expensive or hard to find parts depending on what parts you need. I unfortunately sold the bike due to the amount of cost it was going to be to repair and restore the bike to my standards, so I decided to sell mine. Good luck I hope I was helpful for you. Cheers!

For my 1986 yz 80 do you know how much to turn the itle and air and mixture screw from all the way in bc it the last thing to finish it and I can’t find anything out about it
@bigair0176
@bigair0176 3 жыл бұрын
According to the manual 1 and 3/4 turns out from the bottom. So screw the pilot air screw all the way in. Lightly seat don’t go to far. Then back it out 1-3/4 turn and start from there. As for the idle screw. That needs to be adjusted to the idle once you have the pilot air screw close to what it needs to be

Not sure but I would check the old one and see if it can be bored or resleeved and order an aftermarket piston like wiseco or even oem. That’s my thoughts. Cheers

Yes I was very disappointed to see that. I may be looking for a whole new motor. We will see how it runs. It looks like the guy banged on it with a hammer or something. Other side looked fine. But at 7000rpm not being true I bet she will have a good vibration
