Thanks bro! They will do for now I guess, but new ones will be installed after I get some other big projects done to the car. It’s going to be all about timing on this project. That way I’m not redoing things over. Some exciting stuff coming!!

Which spray primer/filler did you use ? And which black over the top?

Dang! I was wondering about the covers. I looked at them. That would’ve sucked if that one flew off going down the road! I’m not sure how long these will hold up, but hopefully for a little while. Thanks man!

I didn’t even know they had that option….. i accidentally got a black trash bag on one trying to tint windows!?!?! The hot weather made some stick to the rubber…. Actually filled in nicely to a bit of it! Hard to explain & describe…. but it blended in! (May be a remedy if it can be done under control with a heated dryer!?) Ikr! Nothings perfect!🙄😤😂

That would be aggravating repair. If I was going to attempt it. I would consider removing them, taping off the glass, sand the painted surfaces where they are as smooth as you can get without sanding to much. I wouldn’t want any shiny paint. I think would fill any imperfections and the prime them with epoxy primer and spray a SIMs trim black. That’s the best way I would know how. I would say if they painted them when on the car, you could get paint chips when removing. Paint attends to bridge from car to the rubber in areas. According on what your trying to accomplish, but it would be tempting to by the LMR aftermarket ones and replace them.

I would tape off your windows to protect the body paint, then I would attempt to try sanding them. I’m not sure if you are saying they are painted with car paint or trim paint? Car paint is so hard, it would probably start chipping and flaking off. Outside of sanding them and trying to fill the cracks with flexible putty, I’m not sure. Probably just going to be a lot of elbow grease and trying to clean them up. Best of luck! Thanks!!
