Self Isolation insanity has only been slowed by taking short drives alone in my cars. The weather was nice enough in New England to break out the '88 911 and talk about upgrades, maintenance, and of course the thing that is really on my mind....The Tiger King.

For those of us who know nothing about air cooled car engines, could you maybe do a quick overview of how the cooling system works? Does it ever have overheating or overcooling problems? Have you ever taken it on the track?

I’ve had this happen more times than I care to admit. I used the approved installer locator on the tirerack.com website to find a good shop. Look for a small indy shop with guys that are into racing. Deal with the owner/manager directly and you and your wheels will be in good hands.

as someone who grew up with Volkswagen beetles, I know exactly how that heating works and how fun it is when one of your exhaust heat exchangers goes bad and blows all that stank into your interior haha. Love the old 911, Glad people like you keep them running for future generations to experience what a real car is. My 1st car was a 1977 Porsche 924 2.0I and I still miss that car everyday

God, that thing must feel incredible on the road! Just you and the car, hardly any filters in between. Quarantining’s been going alright...home from college with my family and classes are going fine online. But if I’m honest, this is the point where I wish I was more independent. I’m just ready to live on my own at this point. Unfortunately, I don’t have the means to do that, but I’ll definitely have more time to find ways to take those next steps with all this downtime. That is...assuming I don’t waste it all on that Tiger show or King of the Hill...

Popped up on recommended today. I don't think I'd ever own one but would love a drive in one of these. Buddies dad has an old Fiat X1/9 and not a quick car by any means but the sound of it would have me enjoying it out on a nice Sunday. And amen to the alcohol. I had a time in my early 20's when I was depressed and just drinking heavily once or twice a week for a few months and it got old quick. I only have an occasional drink around holidays or a summer get together. It seems like a waste of time. I'd rather be doing other things than being intoxicated.

Had the same thing happen to me on my LS400. Stock wheels are 16” and callipers are massive. Got tyres mounted and they put on weights that hit my calliper. Went down the road and thought it was a stone in my tread, but it kept on getting worse as I went faster. It never stopped. So when I got home I jacked it up and spun the wheel and surprise... So I took all the weights off and then months later I changed wheels anyways.

A Carol apologist! 😂😂😂 Joe Exotic is the most reasonable, decent person of the lot, a scary statement in and of itself😂. Who knew there was such drama going on in the “Big Cat” world? Is it even possible to gather such a group of complete lunatics with anything in common? Meanwhile, you’re driving my absolute dream car around.... I have wanted one since I was 11 years old in 1977. I have passed up countless opportunities to get one thinking a better one was out there for me....then I wake up one day and they have been priced into stupidity level dollars. My heart is breaking.

Cool video man! I have a 997.2 c4s cabriolet and planned on selling it to buy a 997 gts. Want something a little lighter and more "porsche like"?? But to be honest, during this quarantine time, all I've been looking at is classic porsche. They look more engaging in the way they drive to me, and was wondering what you thought about going for a classic, after owning a newer model?

I think if I owned this car I would probably address the seats/cage/harness situation. If you don't track the car it seems a bit........much. Looks like a great car for carving corners though. I would probably also consider a multi-stage respray, but I bet that isn't cheap. Either way as a (mainly) Corvette guy this is tickling things inside me....

I did..I called and they said "oh bring it back and we'll rebalance." I told them I already ripped off the weights that were hitting the caliper and I'd rather you not touch the car again. Fortunately the weights that were left were still keeping it in balance so no vibrations. I was just so angry, especially since they charged a premium. They said they took it for a test drive... every rotation of the wheel made a sound!
