You have to take the hub cover off and remove the retaining c clip. But don’t have to remove the bearing but I say you should go ahead and remove them,makes the axle go in easier and you can re pack the bearings and extend the life of everything involved.

@TheLincolnfreak ok yeah thx.. I think I'm just a Lil intimidated cuz of the locking hub in general.. I do a lot of my own repairs and I've done em on a 90 Chevy my dad had. But know nothing about manual Hubs..

@@PhillipHall01 thank. Yeah I didn't see anything about the snap ring... although I do hear offroad guys leaving the snapring and bolt off... I guess it's only there to hold the star cover if all the bolts come loose. Might actually be easier for future repair to leave the snapring out then lol

@@damnitdang Maybe so but I would not recommend it.. Its simple to remove and adds TONS of safety security which equals peace of mind.
