Today We finish tearing down the rusty 1989 Toyota Pickup Truck that I purchased for $500. It's a good thing I waited to take the bed off because the bed was preventing the rusty frame from breaking in half. We eventually got the 3.0 v6 running and it appears to be healthy! Now Mike's going to continue the drivetrain swap over to our Gambler 500 car, a 1998 Honda Accord sedan which has ben converted to a 2-door UTE/El Camino, now sitting on a 1988 Toyota 4wd Pickup Truck frame. e call it "Weirdmobile"

I like what you do if there was a place like you do in Jersey I have a truck with a broken chassis and there is no one who can repair it

I doubt most shops would touch it due to liability reasons. Keep asking around, maybe you'll fins a guy working out of his garage that can repair it.

Sadly, no. Once again it's the same weekend as family events/birthdays. Our main goal is to get the Weirdmobile done to have it ready for some of the other Gamblers. Believe me, we're going through Gambler 500 withdraw!

Man I was hoping you were going to make this one. Going to gambler events are a blast and its always a good time driving your gambler around and watching peoples reactions to them. Keep cracking away at it and I cant wait to see that wacky thing done.

Was wondering on your 85, heard on previous videos you use to take it wheeling, was wondering if you spray Fuid Film inside the frame, would you still wash the mud out on the inside or would you just leave it cause of the Fluid Film? I have fluid film inside my truck also. Was wondering on days that snow should I wash the frame or just leave it after I drive in salt roads?

I would wash it out. The nice thing about the fluid film is that the mud (and salt) wash off of it easier than if it was just on the unprotected frame. edit: That's only if I was in a lot of mud or deep muddy water and was sure some got into the frame.

Me too, but you gotta make the best out of it. The powertrain will live on in another build and the interior/trim parts will go toward keeping other road-worthy trucks nice.

@@6thGearGarage yep! mines a frankentruck, 85 frame/straigh axles with a 88 xtra cab and a 90' 22re!
