Here is a video I made for testing the TPS. I did not need to adjust mine, but I added a little explanation for how to adjust it if needed.

Dear Sir Frank. Thank you very much for your answer to the question I asked you about the knock that is heard when starting my suzuki sidekick, but this problem is not new, I have had this clutch knock problem for a long time I don't make a living from mechanics, I'm a retired educator, but I have the ability to overhole the vehicles I've owned, so I've changed the clutch and thrust role, but the problem continues. Thanks again for your responses. Alvaro Chacon Badilla of Costa Rica

Sir Frank Cook I have a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick 16 valve. When starting the march and releasing the cluth, a strong blow is felt. The same goes for making changes. The knock occurs when the clutch pedal is released. What is the reason for that blow? how do i fix it. Alvaro Chacon Badilla, from Costa Rica.
@nunapitchuk2 жыл бұрын
My first guess is that you need a new clutch and though-out bearing.

When adjusting the TPS, the continuity test is done while Multimeter is set to CONTINUITY, right? I am asking as the multimeter has also higher resistance selection such as 200K OHMS, etc.
@nunapitchuk2 жыл бұрын
Set to measure resistance, usually has a little ohm symbol. Use the lower ohm range for more precision -- newer multi-meters will do that automatically. So if you expect the reading to be 30 ohms then use the 0-100 range. If you expect the reading to be 120 ohms then use the 0-1000 range. I don't know what multi-meter you are using so I can't say for sure, but I think you will figure it out.

Question I have a trucker and its running super super ring I change the plug and the throttle sensor the air flow sensor is working too but there is no h2 sensor on can that cause it to running rich that badly I get 10 miles on a gallon and a half and my newer car gives me 39 miles on the same so can you please explain to me why is that,love the video I learn alot from you

Sorry, I never saw this comment. Did you get it figured out? There are several things that can cause low fuel mileage. I would need much more information to try and help. My main page is facebook.com/SidekickRebuild/

I have a suzuki vitara 1995 1.6 16v , when I turn on the car the rpm are at around 1000 but as the engine heats up yhe rmp goes up to 2000 ,and that happens mostly if outside temperature is colder. Any idea what could be the problem?
@nunapitchuk5 ай бұрын
It should be around 1600 when you first turn it on and around 800 after it warms up. Did it recently have work done? Coolant hoses replaced wrong? The wax valve in the throttle body controls the warm-up idle. It is open when cool and then closes when it warms up. The IAC valve takes over when the engine is warm to maintain 800 rpm idle speed. When gas peddle is pressed the IAC closes. Is the throttle cable properly adjusted? A couple of guesses, but I don't know enough about your car or what has been done to do a diagnosis.

@@nunapitchukman thank you for the reply firdt of all. So here is the thing,after a overheat my head gaskrt was blown,so i did a head gasket repair. I cleaned thr maf sensor,cleaned IAC, I unplugged the Position sensor and still does the same. Its interesting to me that when its colder outside the rmp goes wild,in summer time for example they still go up but not nore then 1400-1500 ,I changed the temp sensor still didnt fix nothing.

hi frank how can i adjust tps
@nunapitchuk4 жыл бұрын
There are two small screws. I pointed them out in the video. Loosen the screws a little and then the TPS will turn a little in either direction. Use your ohm meter to turn it (very small amount) until you get the correct reading. Then tighten the screws and test it again to make sure that it is set properly. As I stated in the video, mine was already good so I did not need to actually adjust it.
