How to change the front brakes on a 1999 GMC Suburban, without bleeding the brakes. Almost all GMC and Chevy front brakes are the same. This video covers approximately 1986 to 2014 GMC and Chevy half ton, Tahoe, Blazer, Yukon, Silverado, Suburban, and pickups. They are all pretty much the same. Worked great for 1998 GMC 1500 Savana Van. Thanks for going over smaller details for a beginner like me. Especially the end when told not to pump the brakes until you start engine first.

i have a 1999 chevy tahoe lt and i had 2 different mechanic that told me they could do my brakes and one was a no-show for weeks and the other one had to much on his plate to get around to doing it, so i had to get my truck up and running and saw your video 11 times before i spent 5 hours including a break to do exactly what your instructions on the video said and i want to THANK YOU FOR YOUR AWESOME VIDEO. i now have brakes and continue to create videos to us first timer who are no as skilled as you are. thank you again

Made the whole thing a piece of cake. Only thing confusing was the size on the caliper bolts, mine were 3/8 Allen. Anyway, brake change was successful, thanks for a great video!

Does it matter if you reuse the same brake fluid like that again and again after every change? It seems like you would have to change the brake fluid sometime.

Good job you covered what I new but went stupid, n that was trying to push that sleeve back in to caliper with a clamp.& it was not moving although my mind tells me you know it moves what the h#//. Hay dummy put a socket On the end of the clamp so it can slide.( duh) Thanks man you saved me from getting out the cutting wheel.Haha almost went there. You showed what most videos would of passed rt by.

How do you bleed the breaks (assuming you got air in them )

Little late sorry but you can get a bleeder tool(free specialty tool for borrowing from oriellys) and it’s pretty straight forward from there slap the end of the tube on the bleeder screw which is on the back side of the caliper then just slowly pull fluid through and replace it in the main cylinder. You need to do this on all 4 tires until you get to clean brake fluid

I think I did something wrong I changed both of my rotors and pads on the front of a 99 chevy suburban and my brake lights come on everytime I press the brakes any ideas of what I could have done wrong?

somehow you got air in the system, or your back breaks are due. try bleeding the front brakes first. thanks for watching.

Sometimes it won't come on when I press the brakes. But sometimes it does and also the brakes are working as well just trying to figure it out because this was my first time changing brakes and rotor on a suburban
