1999 is one of the most iconic Creepypastas there are, but has it held up today?
Apologizes if the gameplay looks a bit weird, Hatred doesn't like being recorded so it wasn't running very well.
Thanks for watching!

I guess it does depend on the story, but after years of cultivating creepypasta reading taste, I think I’ve come to prefer rain. It feels more like a friend telling you about their spooky experience in the middle of a rainy night instead of a production. It’s more immersive that way, I think.

the rain helps keep focus on the story, it might be a personal thing but any kind of music is distracting when im trying to take in a new story or get into the atmosphere. the rain's at a perfect amount and at perfect volume 👍

"Mr. Widemouth" is a creepypasta I remember actually being good. It was about a little creature that may or may not have just been a feverdream of a child. It keeps trying to trick the kid into hurting themselves. The story is short and has a pretty good stinger.

@@MissingTwinKraus Yeah, he originally released a version with a bunch of stuff that was “inspired by” (read: plagiarized from) a few other sources, including Alantutorial, then got called out for it; and demanded every narration of the story that contained the “contested” parts be deleted. Hence why pretty much every original recording got purged, and only exists in reupload form.

Classic creepypastas I suppose were the best since creepypastas were new. New creepypastas are like those 4chan green text stories that go on for hours and hours, and usually have the premise or entire plot synopsis explained in the title. It will be nice listening to this, thanks for adding the rain :3

Like, you’d still see those, but they’d be less intrusive and they’d be mixed in with titles like “A Shattered Life” or “Pig Iron.” It’s slowly gotten worse over time, and the titles get longer and more specific.

Personally I would've enjoyed a bit more details on the episodes, more info on how they would slowly got more darker and deranged, maybe show Mr. Bear treating the kids worser and worser every episode showing Mr. Bear becoming more twisted and whatnot. The whole satanist pit thing was just kinda unwarranted and as you said not that scary, maybe actually have Mr. Bear just snap one day and do the whole pit thing, rather then whatever stupid satanist thing that ended up happening, maybe have more of a back and forth dynamic between Mr. Bear and Elliot he could be more obsessed with him as "the one that got away" like have Mr. Bear trying to track him down. Also yeah the ending was horrible maybe actually have Mr. Bear take on the whole blog thing for a little while maybe try to use it to try to lure more people in to save Elliot or something.

This is a true story. I lived in Bolton for 30 years, in the township of Caledon. I went to Holy Family elementary school and went to Robert F Hall Highschool. This took place on what's now know as Downey's Farm. I remember when this happened. Btw Mr. Bear is in currently is prison in California serving a 30 year prison sentence, he was arrest in Georgia for trying to kidnap a girl. He moved to Mississauga, after all this, he was married and had 5 daughters. His first name is Brian. I did meet him before I found out who he really was, I'll say this don't trust anyone who never blinks. Ask me anything about that area or about this fucked up story I can tell you anything you want to know.

I’m not even kidding when you got to “and then it just ends” I literally felt like ಠ_ಠ and heard the SpongeBob *whomp* sound in my head. It kinda felt like the author just got bored and a little annoyed with the whole thing by the end. It was a genuinely good set up but I think it wouldn’t be a bad idea for the author to revamp this even if it ruins immersion. There’s a few major things I would recommend changing: • the motivation, I initially thought this was gonna have some supernatural element and that’s what was compelling him to visit so much (which I actually prefer it wasn’t, I’ve just heard a lot of SCP stories recently so that’s where my mind was) but then he just kept going “that could’ve been ME BOO HOO” like my guy there were kids who actually GOT murdered whose families are probably broken now and your dad drove you to the damn house, you probably weren’t gonna get got but yeah watching those kids burn was definitely for closure and not macabre interest 🫤. It made the character so unlikeable since he mentions this so often right after mentioning actual awful things the kids went through and there’s no reason for him to watch the children’s d*ath tape. I would have preferred survivor’s guilt, which he throws in at the end, being the driving force, like he wants to find Mr. Bear himself or make sure he’s dead. He could have even had the kid he showed the show to be one of the kids who is k*lled to really solidify the guilt and give him an ACTUAL direct tangible motivation. • Don’t have the cop friend show the children’s d*ath tape. When the officer friend kept pushing to involve the main character more and more I legitimately thought he was going to turn out to be Mr. Bear as a twist until they made it clear other cops knew he was showing Elliot the tape. When he initially went in to watch the tape they found, I thought it would be a new tape from Mr. Bear involving the kids Elliot ran into in the woods. It would make more sense that he’d be shown that to see if he knew something, maybe it shows Elliot secretly being recorded during his confrontation with the kids in the woods before showing Mr. bear approaching the kids to do whatever spooky thing they wanna do to add a sense of actual active danger and add to the survivor’s guilt motivation. Having him choose to watch the d*ath tape just made him more unlikeable, there was absolutely nothing about it he needed to see and it makes the police so unrealistic, like the police friend went from “I’m helping you find closure” to “I’m trying to traumatize you” so quickly. If they really wanted to have Elliot see the tape it would have been way better if he didn’t know what was on it before watching it and maybe having him find it or have it left/delivered on his property, then it would at least feel more like it was being inflicted on him non-consensually as opposed to wanting to see some kids burned alive and would add to the sense of danger closing in. •The protagonist should know Mr. Bear is alive and an imminent threat at some point. There is never a point where Elliot believes Mr. Bear is alive and aware of him, he even acts like Mr. Bear couldn’t possibly know anything about him even though he has a whole ass public blog that he puts a bunch of somewhat personal info in. I don’t get why he doesn’t react to the hacked message including the distinctive letters that he sees in the video that no one else knows about until he mentions them. There’s just never a “click” moment for him. I get that the author got tired of the story so it’s incomplete, but honestly that moment should have happened quite a bit before they even got to that point in the story. •Have an ending. I mean yeah, that’s the big one. I was really expecting an escalation right before you said it was over. Even just like finishing the last blog post he’s working on with a “I’ll update you guys later, sounds like my dad came home early,” just a lil something to suggest something has happened to him. Sorry that’s so long, I was just so thrown by how it just sort of fizzles out so quickly and wanted to talk out my thoughts. I got the vibe Elliot was a bit of a self insert and all the stuff he was dealing with like driving and uni were actually happening to the author and that’s why motivation and posting started to really get messed up, probably threw in the d*ath tape to try and add some spice that had been missed but realized it didn’t really add anything, didn’t know what to do, and was just over the whole thing. If the story had had an ending I probably wouldn’t have said anything lmao but this story has some good bones and a really good ominous beginning. Thanks for shredding your voice for us ❤️

There's one scary story I read, it was technically an r/nosleep post, but here's a rough synopsis: Two men are experimenting something (a machine?) I forgot what it was for, but maybe like, trying to solve world hunger or stop diseases or something. Anyway, the main character guy was sort of a co-worker to the other man. They ended up replicating skin? But it was like a living organism and tried to latch onto the men and try to like attack them or eat them? It ended with the men surviving and the protagonist running and getting in his car and leaving. It had narration saying like "skin is always around me" or something some weird shit like that. I have been unable to find it. If anyone knows what it was titled or who posted it, PLEASE let me know.
