Before we get busy with many other projects it would be good to start the excavating this first part of the property. We often do a big week of hauling gravel so we need to get this excavated and drying to when the time comes and we need to haul gravel it will be ready.

Love watching you excavate. My favorite episode was watching you excavate a particularly challenging project while Ola filmed you. She kept referring to a slang phrase relating to fecal material each time you did something. Sooo funny.

Excellent excavation work. You sure know your stuff. Reminds me of dad draining a slough to dry out a field. It took quite awhile to dry out too. A really enjoyable video! Thanks!

Suggestion: good would be to place 3 attached concrete culvert pipe 18inchx48inch.. so in case of flood next year (same time now) any snow thawing making a puddle everywhere any rocks that do go through them won't damage the drain pipe (since they are smooth .. you can go in an remove them one at a time. it will be a pain but no extra work would be needed for a few years.. and water will continue to drain.. cause they are big enough to pass heavy vehicles over them.

The main road should be nicer in the winter with no trees blocking the sunlight from hitting road surface. If the new cleared area is a western slope it would be a nice place for fruit trees.

With the drainage, I would be tempted to start at the bottom, straddle the ditch, Then dig a deep trench for the water to flow down hill in.

I was more worried that your son was having more issues. Happy to see it was just a technical issue. That area would be a fantastic place for a campground.

I comment as I watch, how about drainage to capture snow melt, looks like a pretty good stream ❤ maybe just as a constant tank of h2o then stream keeps running. Sorta a filter system.😊

my man!! You have an awesome place!!! you do awesome work!! and your machinery skills are out of this world. So i have a suggestion for you. since you first started the video with this patch doesn't do anything or benefit the wildlife. Why don't you do some thing that will benefit them? and yourself???? what am i suggesting? You talked about how messy it is with that spring and big rocks.. why don't you make a square pond that holds water!. plumb it in from spring and have an over flow on it so it circulates make it about 6.5 tall to 4.5 wide 10 foot long. hell maybe even bigger put drain and culverts out to control where it outflows it would be a win win for you and wildlife. how for you? fresh drinking water. or a place to siphon water in-case of fires.... and god knows how many fires are caused by lightening strikes in the Mountains and no water to fight them. And then below but sill connecting to big tank you can a smaller one for wildlife, 2.5 feet deep same distance across and three feet long. One getting water from spring into big tank and then over flow into little tank and then it flows into culvert and goes the way it does now,... down hill. you have the equipment and water just need concrete to form tanks. it will come in handy in fire emergencies. just thinking ahead is all and its just a suggestion. take care be safe aweome video. looking forward to the next ones.

How’s the 308 behaving now that she’s been to the CATropractor and had a mani/pedi spa day? 😂 That hook on the 308 with the thumb made me think of the old TV show Get Smart and they had an evil villain named The Claw! “It’s not Craw! It’s Craw!!! 🤣 Holy Smokes! What phase of the development plan is the hydroelectric generating station? 😉😎

Wow great job! I have a question though and I'm not so sure about this but I'm just asking a question and you don't know better than me for sure! You removed a lot of brush and weeds and greenery is there any concern about winter runoff when the snow melts and soil erosion where am I just looking at completely different! Thanks a lot you do a great job!

No concerns, we have a whole development plan for this space including trees, bushes, hedges, and ground cover. The details will come in another video soon and should be grown in pretty nicely this season. :)

Why don't you build a bigass pond and stock it with trout? It might be a nice place to sit around too once established. 😎 👍 I'm sure the wildlife would love it.
