I HONESTLY believe DE has been the love story, idgaf who says otherwise or what Kevin said about SE because everything proves DE was the love story, they got the journey, the obstacles, they got songs about going from hate to love and falling on love and songs about not being able to let each other go and the quote "when it's real you can't walk away" was said to be about SE but it fits DE more because they haven't been able to walk away from each other even in s2 when he killed Jeremy. and they accept each other good & bad. Stefan couldn't love her as a vampire, and SE walked away from each other more times than I could count, and if they truly loved each other she wouldn't of fallen for Damon and SE were fated to be together AND got together all the other times but there was never a Damon before, and I find it hilarious that a lot of the songs that played on SE SCENES were about a dysfunctional relationships, they slept together on 1x10 to a dong about self harm you can't tell me they didn't do the song stuff on purpose lol anyways to me DE was the love story from the very beginning because they had the journey, SE met, kissed, broke up, said ILY and had sex within the first 11 EPS TOO fast for my liking. I like relationships with buildup and I knew that DE would be ENDGAME from s3, anyone that actually started s8 and still thought SE would be ENDGAME when it wouldn't make any damn sense was in denial. they said it was ALWAYS Stefan but A) I don't think Elena ever really believed that and B) by s3 she said she couldn't think about always. and also with Stefan she never wanted to talk about the future but with Damon a future is all she could see, IMHO that said it all to me and it was AND always has been Damon no one else. when Damon died she couldn't take it and compelled away her memories but she still fell in love with him - he's her life, her soulmate, the love of her life, her true love. she can live without Stefan. she can't live or function without Damon. ENDGAME since day one.

Which means that Elena had strong feelings for Damon before she turned. And if the sire bond is so literal so all the people they turned would be in love with them which is quite absurd. And she fell in love with Damon way before she turned

matthew mann ppl obviously use it as an excuse because they hate to think that she could ever choose Damon over "saint" Stefan. I love Stefan but he's far from perfect and 1) the witch in 4x08 said a vampire only bonds to her sire if she had human feelings pre vampirism 2) she said she loved Damon in 4x23 after the sirebond was broken and 3) she revealed in 6x02 she fell in love with him in 3x01 long before she was a vampire, ppl just need to gtfo it! she loved Stefan yes but the fact ppl think she'd stay with him the whole series is ridiculous when it's based on a book about a love triangle and both couples had to happen, she loved Stefan yes but IMO she loved Damon 200000000x MORE. she couldn't even survive him dying but ppl still thought SE would be endgame when they destroyed them to the point they couldn't fix it, THEY finally get to the point where their friends and on good terms and ppl wanted them to ruin that and get romantic AGAIN ugh IMO DE was ALWAYS the ENDGAME.
