It’s not all luxurious and I’m still learning about my body while recognizing more of the mind traps and bad habits that I really do have.

I had surgery in October 2018, HW was 344, I’m now 288! I am not overeating, I’ve done very well. I exercise and literally don’t eat high calorie food or fatty fried stuff. I’m going back to the doctor, I may just go back to soups to jump start my body again! No loose skin, though. Doctor said in January that it was good I was loosing it slowly, but my god it is definitely coming off slow!
@GinaMarieUT5 жыл бұрын
Joy W hahaha!!! Yah, no kidding when sometimes it comes off slow. I have heard that it’s good to lose slow though. I’m hoping that’s my case as well. That’s so awesome that you’ve lost so much weight and are keeping to the diet. That’s so important. Also- I congratulate you on the exercise too! I definitely need to pick that up. I have thought about the jump start of my body as well. It sounds like your kicking butt! Keep with it! You’re doing great!

Love your videos Gina. I'm working toward getting the DS getting all my prerequisite things done. Still have a few months to go on my insurance required 4 month physician supervised weight loss. I have a failed lapband that was done in 2012 that will be taken out at the same time they do the DS. Hope you're doing well. Look forward to your next video

It was good to see your post. You should be proud of how far you have come. It’s amazing! Sometimes it takes the body a little longer once you’ve lost so much weight to adjust. You may try cutting back on sugar through sugarless candies and low-carb ice cream. Enlightened ice cream is amazing! Very creamy. It sounds like you’re really thinking things through and know what you need to do. Make a list and cross them off one at a time. You will get there. I’m down 94 lbs and it’s been 6 months since surgery. Cutting back on the sugar and the carbs really helped. I still eat carbs but I am very aware of how much. You’ve got this! Keep up the good work

You look amazing!! The fact that you see habits creeping back in is so important for your success! You can do it! I am not always the cleanest eater either, but sometimes it is ok to make a few allowances for an indulgence here and there as long as you can get yourself back into gear afterward. You can do this, girl! Do whatever you need to reach that goal: track your food, fo to therapy, ask your boyfriend for support, whatever you can do to help yourself reach that goal. Love seeing you!! 🥰

How are you at this point with clothing, lose skin? I ask because you and I were about the same weight area when we started and I want to look forward to in the size and extra skin category. I hope that is not too personal, its okay if you don't want to answer.
@GinaMarieUT5 жыл бұрын
Patrice Hanes That’s totally fine. I’m down to a size 16 pant size. I still have body dysmorphia and wear baggy clothes so it’s hard to tell on the size category- but I do know my pant size. I had a lot of muscle with the fat so I do have some loose skin under my arms and on my belly- not as noticeable around my legs. I’m hoping to have more loose skin as I hope to lose more weight. My belly is the most noticeable. I don’t mind answering at all. I hope that helps. I might show more on my arms in a video.

Try sugarless candies. Try bariatric friendly foods and snacks. Just try walking each day for 10 minutes. That's all. You may find you will want to walk a little more after a while. Try to eat cleaner. Salad with protein is really good. Seriously try to track what you are eating even for one week to see what you are really eating. Keep the faith. Have you thought of doing a pouch reset? Good luck.
@GinaMarieUT5 жыл бұрын
Carla Cameron Thank you so much for all the amazing advice! Seriously, I’ve been tracking more and lost 2 pounds this last week. I have thought about doing a pouch reset if you’re talking about the liquid diet again and what-not. I love your idea of just walking 10 minutes to start. I need to stay consistent. I really appreciate your comment. Thank you!!!
@carlacameron4385 жыл бұрын
@@GinaMarieUT You are welcome. Anything to help! Yes. Try the liquid diet for one week. It's a good challenge for yourself. I think it's important when we fall into old patterns or become too complacent and start plateauing or gaining again, it is time to shake things up. I am doing well with my weight loss so far. Two weeks ago, I did not lose any weight. I did a self check and realized I was starting to slack off. I did a two day diet where I ate yogurt and 2 Triscut crackers for breakfast, salad with tuna for lunch, a protein shake for late afternoon snack, salad and ham and goat cheese for dinner, sugar free Jello for a snack and a protein bar for late night snack and drank my liquids. I wrote everything down for those two days. I broke the stall. I lost 3.4 lbs that week. Now a week later, I am back to eating how I normally eat and I have lost 1 more lbs. What I normally eat are clean, bariatric approved foods. I also have my sugarless candies like Pure, Ice Breakers, Werthers. They are all over the house. My surgery was June 27, 2018. I'm down 101 lbs since then and 123 lbs since June 4, when I started the pre-surgery Optifast diet. My highest recorded weight was 302 (I did see it go up to 309) now I am down to 179. I met a lady at my bariatric clinic who looked really good. She had lost over 200 lbs and had kept it off for 3 years. She is the one who told me if you are struggling at a plateau then try the pouch reset. It is great that you lost 2 lbs. You can do it. Remember to be mindful of what you are eating. Some people who I watch on KZfaq who have been very helpful are NuMi, Little Kansas Kitty, Grace Gets Gastric, Finding Wendy and My Level 10 Life. They are all inspirational and help keep me motivated in one form or another. Check them out if you have not already. All the best again.

Carla Cameron Wow. Thank you- SO very helpful and it sounds like you’ve been so successful. It’s always great to get information and knowledge from people who know the struggle. I love hearing what works for you and what helps reset the process. Thank you so much for everything. I will have to try your suggestions and check out those motivational places. You’re so kind and I really do appreciate the great advice. I’ve definitely needed it!

Probably a stupid question but what are "chest hiccups"? Ive never heard this term before. Tia
@GinaMarieUT5 жыл бұрын
Vicky Cimi I don’t know if everyone experiences this- but i started getting hiccups and realized that they weren’t normal hiccups but sort of down in my esophagus- I call them chest hiccups. They don’t happen all the time and I notice them less the longer out of surgery I’ve been. It’s a warning that you’re full and should stop eating.
@realisticgrl4 жыл бұрын
Gina Marie Thanks for explaining! I have noticed these hiccups after eating. So, now I know and will make sure to watch how much of certain foods to eat. I think my hiccups are also due to eating my food too fast.
