There is no such thing as firing into the box; the subs are still loading the enclosure and exciting the port because they are mounted to the enclosure. As long as all subs are facing one way, wiring would be the same. The only time you would need to wire differently is when one (or more) sub(s) is facing one direction on the baffle and one (or more) sub(s) is facing the opposite. Any opposite facing sub(s) would need to be wired negative to positive and positive to negative, or reverse polarity in order to not work against the other subs. The phasing adjustment on the amps only comes into play with multiple sub, multiple amp setups where there may be a signal discrepancy or wave cancellation due to distancing and wave reflection in the vehicle. This is an extremely advanced portion of audio, for the vast majority of users the phase stays on '0' for all of their amps, regardless of speaker mounting.
