Really wish JR didn't make passengers deal with the shower card stuff. That's one of the few things I prefer about Amtrak.

Wow, you can really put the food away, amazing. We had a great Japanese restaurant here in Los Angeles called Asaya for more than 30 years, they closed up and moved back to Japan. Sad, I loved their food.

i'm amazed at how cheap the fast food is. the udon and side dish cost you only 1.53 in gbp, a similar meal in the uk would cost about 6 gbp! Thats about 1000 yen!

Keep the tempura batter cold 😀 use a high smoke point oil, more expensive, but faster cooking.

I so wish I could visit Japan, and enjoy the Udon and Bonito by train! Here in North Carolina outside the big cities, Raleigh area and Charlotte area, it is hard to find a good Japanese restaurant. When I lived just South of San Francisco, it was easy to find authentic Japanese restaurants, and I miss them. I really enjoy your train tours, from great to not so great ones. Always entertaining, and always well done! Domo arigato, my friend.
