I am SO glad I found someone who even knows what the Haunting Hour even is. Growing up, no one else was watching it despite how I described it as "Goosebumps but darker". I even remember the commercials/previews for all these episodes. Thank you so much for the nostalgia.

Man Lily D's story was honestly nightmare inducing. Me and my cousin watched her first two-parter when we were kids, and were so freaked out that after it had finished, we took her American Girl doll, which looked exactly like my cousin, and locked it in the cold storage room with a chair propped up against the door knob. We were *not* taking any chances of it coming to life and taking us out.

Always a good time finding a smaller creator with quality videos to binge at work.

Lily D, The Mascot, and The Dreamcatcher episodes terrified me as a kid. Hated certain dolls as a kid, the ending of The Mascot horrified me and how if the kid survived no one would have believed him, and lastly The Dreamcatcher with the nightmare beings kinda just explains itself. Bonus episode is the one about Hansel & Gretel and the ending plot twist was so much fun (plus huge fan of fairy tales in general)

The episode "Perfect Brother" has always stuck with me for how sad it was and how it tackles the subject of strict parents who always expect you to be perfect. It's always been relatable to me and it would be cool if you could cover that episode sometime

Man this show really hit goofy and dumb episodes straight into weirdly mature Twilight Zone episodes really well for a show aimed at a younger audience. I'm serious, if you told me was that Scarecrow was a Twighlight Zone or an Outer Limits episodes, I'd be willing to believe you honestly.

i admit the one episode that kind of creep me out is "The Girl in the Picture" as we see the main protagonist eaten by a giant lizard and her mother doesn't know what happened to her.

As a kid, I grew up a diehard fan of kids horror shows. From courage the cowardly dog, haunted hour, goosebumps (which was the least scary to me) and are you afraid of the dark, I watched these shows too many times to count. That being said when it comes to haunted hour my all time favorite was the dream catcher. It’s not the boogeyman scheme or the fact that you need to stay up all night that scares me, it’s the fucking villain. That spider boogeyman thing or wtv it is was the scariest looking character to me which made my 8 year old ass love the episode. Idk who exactly looked at that and said ..yea let’s make this kids horror, but I thank them everyday for that.

Of course, it was the one with Emily Osment. 2:12 Oh, and I saw a ghost show called "Truth or Scare" with Michele Trachtenberg from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. However, I never got into Buffy like the other girls at my daycare did. 4:59 Oh, I remember the girl that played Lilly. She was in another episode, but at the end, she was in a doll house and got eaten up by a monster. 5:39 Speaking of creepy, obsessed doll owners; there was an episode of Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction. The episode was about a murderous housekeeper being outed by her elderly client's doll, well one of the dolls. 12:35 Pinnochio is also terrifying, especially the original novel version of him. He killed Jiminy among other stuff; basically the puppet was an asshole.

I remember watching the Lily D episode when I was a kid. And was COMPLETELY freaked out, like would have nightmares constantly about this creepy doll showing up and would ask my mom if I could sleep in her bed because I was that scared. Anytime I saw the Haunting Hour cover art with that girls face on it I would avoid it and pretend I didn’t see it. Even now as an adult I’m still creeped out by that freaking doll and thankfully can just block it out but every few years I work up the courage to rewatch this episode. I also had an American girl doll that looked just like me as a kid so I turned that doll over and hid it with the dolls I had that didn’t look like me until I was no longer afraid lol.
