I talk about "The Haunting Hour: The Series" A LOT on my channel, but did you know that there is actually a movie that predates the show by a few years? "The Haunting Hour: Don't Think About It" is a children's horror movie that was Straight to DVD, but most kids watched it on Cartoon Network. It stars people like Emily Osment, Cody Linley, Brittany Curran, and Tobin Bell!
The movie stars Emily Osment as Cassie. Cassie just moved into a new town she has no friends and her little brother is annoying and scared of literally EVERYTHING. One day she finds a strange store hidden in an alley. where she buys this book called "The Evil Thing". The book tells her not to read it aloud, but one night her brother begs her to read it to him... which she does. Little does she know she released a FUROCIOUS BEAST who takes her brother. Will she get him back? Will the beast take her aswell? WATCH TO FIND OUT!

Tobin Bell is humble af too. He lives a couple streets down from me and I ran into him at 7eleven a few years ago and we got into each others way in the aisle. So we both step out of the way but we each keep going to the same side just staying in each others way. I stand still so he can just walk by and I say “i don’t want to play a game” we both laughed and went on our ways 😂

The effects were done by the greg nicotero who is most know for the walking dead effects nowadays but his list of work is insane. its good effects because a master was on set.

What's really crazy are old family films. In the 80s they advertised the Terminator and RoboCop to kids, which was weirdly common at the time. Same story with the 1970s Bad News Bears which was PG but that movie was more of a hard R then the remake with Billy Bob Thornton: the 70s Bad News Bears had the N-word, kids swearing, Walter Matthau drunk off his ass, an 11 year old talking about her classmates getting on birth control, and a bunch of kids get drunk.

I saw this as a kid, it really really scared me I had trouble sleeping. I had a very vivid and crazy imagination so I kept picturing the monster in my closet in the darkness waiting for me to fall asleep so it could eat me alive…horrifying I know

I have such a fond memory of this movie. One of the very few times me and my sister agreed on something to watch. Went to netflix saw this, and was like hey R.L. Stein, that's the goosebumps guy. We love goosebumps, this has to be ok. It was great, definitely not perfect by any means. The acting was decent, the suspence was just as good if not better than the Haunted Mask Goosebumps episode, and the Practical Effects were amazing. Heck, they still stand up really well for the early 2000's. I'm surprised that more people don't know about this movie. I guess everyone just thinks about the show, or the books when they think "The Haunting Hour". I always try to show this movie to people around halloween, it's always a good time. Actually I am curious of that “Mostly Ghostly” series as I who is a fan of R.L. Stein’s work have honestly never heard about. I am still a fan of Goosebumps, Haunting Hour, Fear Street, and his more child friendly Ghost’s of Fear Street. Hell my favourite one was “Hide and Seek” where the “villain” who tried to trick our hero got trapped in a girl’s body because our hero got so scared that he bailed minutes after the game began and actually ended saving himself from being possessed by our villain

The thing that surprises me most about the movie is the scene where Priscilla calls Sean’s pen r*t@rded and, somehow, Cartoon Network let that slide. I miss the 2000s.

@@kingnusmi We 2000s kids used to throw that word around like it was nothing. Simpler times. Now whenever I come across a KZfaqr who casually drops R-bombs, I get really nostalgic. Does that make me a terrible person? Maybe, but we called everything and anything r*t@rded, so it does still does not strike me as a slur even after not having it as part of my vocabulary for over a decade now. It is just remnant of a time when speech, media, and the Internet was not so politically correct and sanitized.

The trailers for this gave me nightmares for like 3 months straight. The idea of a monster manifesting in my closet and dragging me off to some horrible place, never to see my family and friends again, just because I happened to think about it was utterly paralyzing.

Thank goodness!! I'm so sorry you had to fight the copyright on this but all good things to those who wait. I remember when this aired and how stunned I was wearing it was good ol RL Stine. Than of course, we got the Haunting Hour series and learned this man could always go darker. It's really made me appreciate all the levels of his material. From campy and cheesy in Goosebumps. To more mature in Haunting Hour: don't think about it. To flat out dark in Haunting Hour

This movie scarred me as a kid, straight up turned me into the whiny little brother. I just remember being so afraid of a spider monster in my closet for a few years. Looking at it now, I get why it scared me, those practical effects are way better than they deserve to be.

Ive grown to be a huge horror fan, like 90% of the things i watch are, at least, horror-esque.. this was definitely one of the first scary movies i watched as a kid, and i absolutely loved it.. became one of my obligatory rewatch with Halloweentown franchise, Coraline, Nightmare Before Christmas, etc.. along with adding more adult horror as i grew up

My screen brightness is all the way up and I still can’t see half the images of the show 😂 like when you were talking about the monster’s design, I couldn’t see anything.
