The 5 Power conferences are NOT "essentially all of the colleges" its about half the FBS football schools, and that doesn't include the mid-major basketball schools with no or FCS football teams.

One of the draws for many people when it came to college sports was the fact that these were kids put their hearts on the line for near nothing but pride. It was what drew a lot of fans to college sports. It wasn't like pro sports where we think "they are just out there for the money". I am not saying the kids shouldn't get their bag. I am just saying that for me and for many of my friends, the live for college spirts isn't as deep as it used to be. I still watch college football but I don't have that same fire i once used to. Just my little rant about the subject.

Alf needs to join a union. I’m sure he’s overworked and underpaid I’ve got a lot of thoughts on the college football thing. I don’t mind them getting paid if they can sell merchandise or a car dealership is going to let them sign autographs, but to pay players on top of the transfer portal where they can leave every year. It just takes all the fun out college football. You don’t have that team that builds on itself for a few years. Every year it’s a completely new team. I’ll still watch but as a fan just seems like this all does nothing but hurt the product

Great point about players bouncing around to different colleges. Probably will see more of that. Guy at a small school has a break out and transfers to Alabama for example

@@TheSportsCardDad when I talk to people complaining about players getting paid. I tell them they should be more concerned with the portal having a bidding war on players every off season is no fun . I get it again. I’m not against them being paid, but I think they should have to stay 3 years instead of just bouncing around

The NCAA deal concerns me as it could siphon off athletic department funds from other sports that don’t get TV deals (e.g. Track & Field, Cross Country).

With college kids being able to earn $$$ while there is a lot of positives one thing we certainly will see is more players end up like Zion. As soon as they've secured that bag that fire that burns with to make all the sacrifices that are required/expected to be a top tier athlete will start to extinguish itself.

What a stupid comment - Zion had lots of injuries, when hes on the court hes a monster 25 points (insane 60% FG), 7 reb, 5 ast.

I had a bunch of hockey. Basketball. Football and baseball cards in a green binder that were stolen from my car years ago and I had the entire Edmonton oilers team and bo Jackson and kirby pucket and those weren't even the most important..Michael Jordan and the entire 1st championship bulls team .. tons of money 💰 they are priceless to me but some dink stole them .. I had jerry rice Joe Montana so so many cards that were from my childhood... some people just take whatever they want

I agree these college players now have all the leverage. Its going to cost Fanatics significantly more to get these guys because they know the product wont sell if they dont.
