This is one of the most useful video tutorials I've ever seen in the photo editing space. I don't believe the words "thank you" are adequate to express my appreciation. Unfortunately, they are the only words I have available to me.

Thank you so much ! Subscribed to your channel - your videos are so in depth and detailed. Since Instagram is coming up in this video, I wanted to ask why you don't use "save for web" ? Does photoshop's "save for web" feature automatically convert embed sRGB into images ? Many thanks in advance x

This helped a lot. I shoot, work in and save everything as sRGB and my images always look more desaturated in JPEG. Even when I use Export As my image looks lighter and less colorful in the preview, even ACR preview is slightly different that what PS displays. Any idea what I would be doing wrong?

14:38 No, as I understood it, ICC profiles from printing companies should only be used to softproof and adjust the image, not to convert your image to their colorspace! Correct me if I'm wrong, but on two german printing sites they specifically warned not to embed their profiles into the pictures you want to print! The rest was very helpful though, thanks! :)

Thank you very much. Can you please assist me, when I edit my photos in LR or PS they look all fine even when exported, but when I upload the same photo on Instagram using my PC, the colors don't look right, when I upload it using my mobile phone, the colors are right. thanks for all the infos in the video! keep up the good work! one question tho; Im processing my Photos in 16bit in PS. When I Export them for Web they look fine. but when i upload them on Instagram i get Colour Banding. (1080x1350) - do you think i should Process my photos in 8bit instead 16bit and then convert them in the export? Thanks for Help!
@Stylemypic
@Stylemypic 3 жыл бұрын
It could be instagram is compressing your image further during upload and as a result it creates banding.

The best tutorial on color management, thanks, I had one question. What should we do to manage the color of two photos when we are doing compositing and the color space is different in two photos? Change it before bring the other photo or after bring the photo into composite?
@Stylemypic
@Stylemypic 4 жыл бұрын
Your main image needs to be in the color space you want to work in. If you have the check box for 'Ask when pasting' ticked in Color Settings like in the video, then when you drag/paste other images into the main image, in that moment PS will realize if the color spaces are different and ask you if you want to convert it to the color space of the main image. So you don't need to convert the images before hand.

hey there, when I export, after using "conver profile" should I disable "embed sRGB" profile????? because I am following your tutorial near the end, you convert the profile (using pro rgb and adobe 1998) I use for digital paitning, not photos, so I ve chosen adobe 1988...and then convert the profile ... but I am confuse... there are "space color " options wichi is convert to srtb and embed profile.
@Stylemypic
@Stylemypic 3 жыл бұрын
After converting profile to ProPhotoRGB or AdobeRGB, you will only see the option to embed that particular color profile. You shouldn't see the option to embed sRGB color profile if your conversion was successful.

A god among men. But well they had to be a but. Do I not need a work flow where everything is set to the same Gamut in my case Pro photo RGB, should Lightroom and Photoshop not be The same/seamless or am I one of the confused?. As my CR2 file (Canon Raw Version2) does not have a profile Lightroom will have to assign a space to my image. Now my working space in photoshop is different to lightroom classic (everyone teaches you to keep it the same throughout). Does the working space dialogue box only come to life if the image does not have a working space assigned. Is it just sat redundant until that rare occasion arises. From anyone kind enough to spare their time may I respectfully request professional clarification not conjecture, never mind how helpful you may wish to be. Thank you. PS if we have asked photoshop to open untagged images as sRGB in the above video, why does it tell me its Untagged and not convert it. Now you have to manually tag it as sRGB when you went to colour settings and asked it to open it as an sRGB. Ya just go around in circles with this stuff. Too may unanswered questions.

Hi, i am having a lot of issues exporting my design from photoshop. I have followed all the tips on the internet, my document is set to srgb with 16bit I also converted the profile to be sure. And once I save for web I have Embed Color Profile and Optimised checked, the convert to srgb (Use Document profile) aswell but once exported on my desktop it looks oversaturated. I have no clue what else to do... I have been trying for two hours, exporting it differently each time and it's the same result which looks different then my original design. I would be eternally grateful if you know something I am missing.
@Stylemypic
@Stylemypic 3 жыл бұрын
Not sure what is causing this problem. Try saving it as a copy manually rather than using the 'save for web' dialog box to see if the problem still occurs. Also, in what application are you viewing the converted photo on your desktop?

@@Stylemypic Yeah, but exporting them as sRGB is exactly what desaturates them, since Lightroom is making you edit in ProPhoto RGB, no? So the switch from ProPhoto to sRGB is the problem. Is that right?
