That is a lot of work. I would like to hear the chemistry involved with some of the process you used here, but then that might give away your secrets huh? Beautiful work, your patience is exemplary.

the happy gilder, who imo blows these guys away, has many videos explaining the steps, among other video makers. these mostly aren't new processes as much as improved equipment. don't get me wrong, these guys are great at what they do, but i don't see much next-level stuff. i have a ton of questions on it, but i've watched a lot of these videos, too, enough to know it's all very much do-able with some practice just like almost any factory-type job or even a good model builder. i can't explain the chemistry involved, but these guys don't answer comments, sooo....

@@manlymcstud8588 Brother I'm sure you didn't mean to come off the way you did but the first comment you made kinda did seem haterish with a touch of douche. Until the end when you said they don't reply to comments I was like that kinda explains it a little. Absolutely no offense intended I'm just letting you know what it looked like. Thanks for the tip on another channel to watch though I love this shit. Definitely will follow up on that.

Lonnie Sands They did this kind of work practically every day in "TURN OF THE CENTURY SIGN SHOPS , BY HUMAN HAND now that is "intimidating "..A SIGN PAINTER/ PICTORIAL & GOLD LEAF MASTER..WORE A BLACK TIE W/ BLACK VEST AS A SIGN OF DIGNITY ALL SIGN MEN WERE VIEWED BY TO THE "PUBLIC" not your average employment " back in the day". maybe from 1895 TO just before 1900's all done by human hand ( I was one who learned by hand everything..Layout..perforated "pounce" patterns & a box of finest quill sign brush i could purchase....until i bought a used Gerber IVB Sign making basic only letter fonts the seller brought it to me & gave me "A fellow Italian" a $1,000 discount..$3,000 to $2,000 en denaro..il soldi cash only ..if you can fold it,...you dont report it...and it finally "quit on me after nearly 20 years just before retirement due to health reasons at age 73..I'm now in "pandemic exile" or I'd work at signs the rest of my life! " good or bad health..... then around 2'000 BC-Before Computers for sign making & really advaced expensive computer software....human knowledge of "how to"..of these glass masterpieces is another issue just the mental vision of the whole range of artistic talents and techniques is now done strictly by computer "layout " is extraordinary but the human hand is a tool that's will always be around..

Which glue is used for sticking gold leaf?
@nonzerosum8943 Жыл бұрын
Swastik For "sticking gold leaf only on glass for the "gold mirror appearance " you use clear gelatin capsules or only one, the stronger the gelatin size mix the harderitisto clean excessgoldleaf and one emptyclear gelatincapsule makes a more perfect uncloudy gold finish but reallyexperienced goldleaf artists know the strengthof water size they are comfortablewithusing. & mix usually with a pint of water, depending on size but it's called "water size" a guilding artist makes by himself, you can't buy a water size in a sign supply business. . but to get a matte looking gold on glass that's dulled by adherence to a clear varnish, as everything in guilding or glass gold leaf work is done in reverse which explains need for a clear "water size or a. clear slow drying varnish to put gold leaf on a surface of glass or durably signboard.. all this explains glue for mirror gold leaf effect and next breathing technique is.... Only animal hide glue has strength to chip "plunks or plinks" in glue chipping glass with or without gold leaf ....but some guild gold leaf over chipped glass with a mirror water with desolved gelatin..l if my memory serves me correctly.. I believe the amount you mik with water determines the "look" you want.. you actually hear the glue shrinking and breaking out the desired size of glass plunking or plinking but that's if you set glass out to dry..somewherein the shop or outside if not too hot..needs right conditions ....it looks like this guy has some drying machine..but all the equipment he has..the software for an expensive computer with a device to " knife ( the blade is very small compared with an xacto#11 hand knife)... however it cuts the computer imprted information to some thingamajig to cut rolls of special computer mask material..he has other specializedfor sign making probably..if a really all purpose sign shop goes for sale...a 1million +here in the States..Japan maybe an equivalent price more! would be right depending on if equipment is included in the sales..capisci thus far ?..Swastik..? Yall got a bunch of mountainbillies out in Appalachian mountains somewhere? ..lol y'all gotta know your KZfaq name is attention grabbing ol german ideology past & present tense ..all San Quentin certain skin pigmentation have tats with the old symbol represents...but I had to " jes sayin' there fella..right or misinformed huh?
