Oh good! The bulb for my Easy Bake Steel Blast Furnace has arrived!

I was half-expecting him to burst into flame at the intense heat that bulb must put out. Maybe he can make the world-biggest EZ Bake oven.

This lamp is called a CP99. It's used in a fixture called an Arri T24 Fresnel. There is also a 24kw version available. It should NEVER be operated out of its fixture like this as they have a tendency to explode. Used for many years in the film industry, at least 20 of these lamps where used on the first Harry Potter film. Oh and it's a lamp not a bulb.

In the Neil Stephenson novel "Cryptonomicon" There is a period set in early World War II in a fictional part of England (that seems to be a spoof of Wales) where at one point a character new to this area had to go through a field on pitch darkness and asked for a light. The locals brought out this gigantic pressurized alcohol fueled more crazy features then I can remember monstrosity that was like the most powerful possible caveman old-style lantern called a 'Galvanick Lucipher', and when it was fired up, the description of the amount of light pouring out turning night to brilliant day for a mile around...your lightbulb's output is EXACTLY what I imagined the galvanick lucipher to look like. Friggin' awesome. You must have felt like you were surrounded by 10 tanning beds at full UV/heat output. I am glad you are making vids again with how goddamn crazy the last two i've seen have been!

The lighting fixture that you use with these lamps is the size of a wash tub and has a fresnel lens 24 inches across. I used three of them once on a film set and the rental house accidentally sent us two 208V bulbs (for three phase power) and one 240V bulb (single phase) the 240V bulb was visibly dimmer on our 208V system until we figured out the problem and got another 208V lamp. Good thing we didn't run a 280V lamp on 240V single phase power and over volt it! Those bulbs are expensive!
