After years of dreaming, we purchased 20 acres of land build up our homestead! Although it is not entirely "raw" it is raw in the homesteading department. We have a lot of hardworking ahead of us with building up gardens, fixing pastures, upgrading the barn, putting rain water catchment systems in, and much much more! Follow along as we go from suburbanites to full time homesteaders along side the company of both sets of our parents who are also living on the property!

I am so excited to see this journey and next chapter in your life! I’ve been with your channels since you found out your were pregnant with revelynne! I have cried and jumped for joy with you guys through all of the ups and downs and re watched multiple times as your vlogs have become a comfort of mine. Wow I don’t know how you guys do it having both sets of parents living together I’m glad that everybody can coordinate and get along and I think this is gonna be a great experience and will be learning along the way with you all. So thank you for sharing I will continue to watch and congratulations again on the new home and owning a new farm. I know one family back home who is a part of my life just recently bought a farm a few years ago and another family who lives not too far from where I live they just sold their home and bought a farm to get some horses as well on their farm.

Thanks! We’re vegan though, so we won’t use a seeder for that purpose. We’ll have to see if we even end up needing it, because our hay guy will be caring for the fields for some time! So we are very lucky in that aspect. 🙂

Love the new property and excited to see all the new plans. The thicket down by the stream looks like Kudzu, like ivy, and it is almost impossible to get rid of. We have it everywhere in East TN and it dies down in winter and comes right back in spring lol. Blessings to y'all!

Well water testing is fairly affordable. I know my area does Arsenic, Nitrates and Coliform Bacteria and its around $100 for the testing. For sure encourage having it tested just so you know

Only part of the very back, down past the range. It’s a 100 year flood zone, which happened to flood soon after we moved when we got a freak 10inches overnight 😳 but that’s the only area, most of it is not thankfully!

How large is 20 acres in football fields?

According to google, a football field is 1.32 acres. So a little over 15 football fields!

That would vary widely depending on where you are. Anywhere from $200,000 to several million depending on the state, if you’re including the house. No house and just 20 acres could be anywhere from $80,000 to a couple million somewhere like California if I have a rough estimate. We aren’t going to tell you exactly what we paid, but North Carolina is a less expensive state.

@Seed to Table thanks soo much 😅. So would you say $5000 is a fair price for land you could homestead in your area? I have a dream of something like this equivalent to $20,000 so I doubt my ability to be able to buy one 😥. Haha.

The price wouldn’t help you! Haha. We bought in September before the big up in the market. It would be totally different now, and it differs so much state to state, and even county to county!
