While Hollywood is a place of make-believe and magic, sometimes it’s hard to suspend our disbelief with certain romantic couples. While some on-screen romantic pairings seem sweet, the reality is that the two actors may actually have a huge age gap. Whether it’s actors being cast as much older or younger than they really are, or characters who are meant to have a big age difference- Hollywood has examples of every single one.
Zendaya is beyond her year in terms of talent and maturity - but it doesn’t stop us from wondering about the not one, but two much older romantic co-stars that she had to kiss! She isn’t the only one though. Which other actors also had a very big age gap with some former on screen relationships? Just in case you were wondering - not all of the romantic pairings have a woman as the younger one! How many decades is the biggest age difference on our list? We were shocked when we learned the truth.
While some of the on screen May-December relationships have been positive experiences for the actors themselves, not all performers have felt the same way. In some instances, the actors felt really nervous kissing someone MUCH older than them and in other cases it was the older actors who felt creepy having to kiss people who were much younger than them.

I don't think they are... It's part of their job and it's not really an erotic moment when you're surrounded by 20 other people on a film set. Also, you can usually expect your film partner to go through the necessary hygiene before a kissing scene. So I don't think it's a big deal (at least for experienced actors and actresses)

It depends very much how old they both are. Are they 25 and 35, they're both adults, but there might be a significant power imbalance. Are they 45 and 55 I wouldn't bat an eye. Are they 15 and 25, it's a lot. We used to say that if the person you were kissing was younger than half your age+7 it was creepy. So for someone age 25, half that is 12,5. Add 7and you have 19,5. That's 5,5 years.

@@akakaki Yes, but the video was making a point of saying "23 y/o kissing a 35 y/o" or whatever, meaning they were both adults and consented to be in the movie. The ones I did have problems with were the children kissing adults

It really upsets me that they have children kissing each other and kissing older adults... the age gaps between the adults do not bother me as much as the children making out do. I just feel like we should protect the children in Hollywood more than we do.

There are certain relationships in television and film that have stood the test of time, becoming lasting love stories we all watch with full-on emoji-level heart eyes. They can make you feel warm and fuzzy, totally heartbroken, or even a little bit better (or worse, if it's a rom-com, because we all know nothing ever works out like it does in the movies) about the state of your own romantic life.

There’s something so romantic to me about an age gap, obviously not underage, but there is a sweet spot and I think its what is so engaging in reading about forbidden love or watching a character try to resist someone they know they shouldn’t be giving attention to, its the types of books and movies I lean towards, its exciting and curious. Probably why I love pride and prejudice so much, they don’t touch in the whole film, but their eyes look as though they have been touching the whole movie.

Honestly as someone in their 20s I've dated guys much older then me because I thought they'd be much more mature smart and loyal turns out older guy's are extremely self conscious about being older and become more controlling and paranoid with their younger partners

Agree. Well we all have been through that stage of life in our 20s dating older guys thinking we both were as mature while in fact they actually like their partner young/younger/naive/obedient and stay young. I can’t stay young forever. A male friend even once told me that he liked his wife young and stay young, emotionally immature/insecure but a bit of a brat so she can be obedient looking up to him while staying wild behind doors.
