The tricks and tools of the trade Hollywood uses never fail to impress us. In today’s video, we’ll be covering all the creative ways productions get around filming with actors who are pregnant - most of whom have to try to hide the fact in the movie or TV show!
We know that CGI is often used, but what about some of the more creative methods and simple methods? Surprisingly, furniture and baggy clothing is a frequent go to for hiding baby bumps! The camera angles also definitely play their part in covering up pregnancies.
When a production team knows an actor is pregnant, it’s much easier to plan how to hide it, though some actors have actually managed to keep their pregnancies hidden on set!
Which actors kept their condition a secret from the cast and crew for pretty well the entire duration of filming? How about the actor who lied about their reasoning for not being able to wear a corset?
With any pregnancy, the actors themselves are definitely facing a whole new set of obstacles with all the physical and emotional changes happening! So for those actors, how is the actual experience being pregnant on set? How do they handle the nausea and odd symptoms brought on? Fortunately from what we’ve learned, the actors are surrounded by caring and supportive people to help make the process easier.
We were shocked to learn about some of these and amazed by how well some productions were able to hide those baby bumps!
