So excited for this! I’ve just been inspired to paint a picture for a KZfaqr who has been having some run ins with spiders. So I got this cute idea but I, having trouble making her pretty enough and the perspective of her dressing table and camera. I think I have the cute tarantulas all good 😅

@@LCLand I like spiders. Gimlet knocked one off the wall the other day but cats are short sighted so he couldn't find it after it was on the carpet and it escaped 😄

Anatomic name of that furrow region below the nose is philtrum. Thanks for the video. Much simpler than trying to apply Loomis method to a photo.

In addition to enjoying & learning thru your Tutorials, I always appreciate your Delivery & Speaking Voice. It has a lovely Tone, Rhythmic Pace and Clarity. So many Instructors haven't really planned out their Lessons, so often their spontaneity is a bit too "conversational", sort of when we are chatting with a Friend and trying to explain something out loud. We might be searching for words to describe an action, etc. but this doesn't matter as we're not trying to absorb & learn something in those conversations. When Instructors teach "off the cuff", I find this creates a lot of interruptions and frequent re-explanations when they realize they might not have stated something clearly or correctly. So that back tracking sometimes is hard to follow. I so appreciate both your Artistic Expertise, Experience and thorough Tutorials where I always learn AND retain the Information, a lot of it due to your Style and Delivery. Thank you SO much!

Thank you Michele this video is what I so badly wanted. The eyes were my downfall. Thank you for this. I can now follow the advice given here and my portrait wont look like Quasimodo. 😂 🎉I could always do one eye right and then when I'd start doing the other one it would be a complete disaster. This Is such a great help. Thank you so much. The lips were another problem. I really appreciate this video. God bless you. Susan ❤❤❤

Michele’s observation skills of a subject and the artwork created by her students is just amazing. The face is a rather complex subject and Michele touched on all of my issues. I am rather good at creating pig nose frowning portraits just need to find a group of folks that resemble those features. The tip on children is much appreciated and my biggest takeaway. I did a sketch of my 7 year old grandson and my family said it was an age enhancement drawing as the sketch looks like a teenager. Have a beautiful week everyone.

Excellent! Much better than anything else I've seen and definitely better than reading about head construction. I still have trouble placing the eyes in a 3/4 turn, more or less, not along the verticle but the distance between them with the nose in between. Lately I've taken the width of the near eye and used it to measure horizontally thru the nose to get the start of the foreshortened distant eye's tearduct, even if I can't really see it because it hides behind the nose. I don't know if this is how you would measure that distance because I'm not sure it is an accurate method.😢
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber 3 ай бұрын
The width of the eye on the far side will not be the same due to foreshortening so you can't use the closest eye to measure. If you are really struggling the grid method can help, I have videos on it if you pop it into the search bar.

Very helpful, thank you. Would you consider a portrait tutorial in future? I'd love to see you take a photo of anyone, draw it and then use watercolours to complete it. I love watercolour portraits 😍 but I haven't managed to draw the face yet. I've been skipping around trying to find someone on yt who can get the Loomis or Reilly method in my head. Tonight I was looking for drawing the skull tutorials as I thought that may help me with the underlying bone structure. But when I found your video, it made so much sense to me. Funnily enough, last week I bought a magazine so I could draw the straight or curved lines where the features lie for practice. You did a great video including this quite a while ago and it's something I keep in mind so thanks for that too 😊 Thanks again, ❤
