its only raw fish, and uncooked cookie dough that is risky to eat while pregnant, cooked cookie dough is fine and so is sushi, and she wasn't eating seafood in that sushi it looks all vego to me :)

gg maranna actually it's the rice component of sushi that is the most dangerous. It has a potential go off very easily especially sitting there over time and the various surfaces it could have touched (chicken, fish etc). It was when she mentioned eating prawns that made me wonder if she knew that seafood was bad. Just letting her know! Would hate for anything bad to happen. There are some horror stories and it's better to know than not. I've been pregnant twice and have googled these things after cravings haha I ended up making my own sushi because I knew it was fresh

I understand that rice can become contaminated, but fuck if you were going to worry about things like that so much you would have to cut out so many foods, literally any food can become contaminated. Im sure she has done her own research and knows what she can and can't eat :)

gg maranna it's not just about cross contamination. It's the fact that it's been sitting there for hours . It provides a perfect environment for bacteria to thrive and you can never be sure how fresh the rice is as it can be made in bulk and used over a couple of days. Just depends if you want to take the risk or not but I know If it were me I would want to know the risks and it only takes a short Google search to find out the risks of sushi rice and various other things x

corinna paton I get my sushi freshly made. My baby is 100% healthy and I’ve been eating sushi and cookie dough throughout my pregnancy xx the cookie dough I get it actually made so u can eat it raw and is 100% safe x
