This was one of the best sitcoms of the 80s and 90s. It was controversial when it premiered on Fox in 1987. The show lasted ten years. A lot of men can relate to Al Bundy. He is a guy who probably had plans as a young man for a great life but life got in the way. It is also a show where we can look at and see there is someone who has life problems worse than ours.

10 years and 11 seasons + a few specials..... what do you mean probably? Al explained multiple times that he never wanted the life as it turned out, most notably his job at the shoe store was supposed to only last for 1 summer....

The main thing to understand about Al is he's the born loser. No matter what happens in the show, Al's always going to wind up with the shit end of the stick. And that's why we all love it, because no matter how bad things are going in our lives, we could never have it as bad as Al. And his philosophizing is just the cry of those who spend their lives with little control or recognition. That's what makes them fantastic. Funniest show ever.

It wasn't actually British tea he was talking about, it was Chinese grown tea stolen from the British East India Company, and tossed in Boston Harbor at the famous protest known as the "The Boston Tea Party". It was credited as the protest that set off the chain of events that led to the American Revolution.

People used to laugh at themselves and give it back and then shake hands. Now humour makes people 'lose their self esteem'. I got cancelled this week for 2 jokes I made on the spur of the moment : 1) someone actually asked if I had Alapacea....so I said "I don't have any mountain animals", 2) someone said "do you suffer from asthma?" So I replied "only when I try spelling it". On both occasions I got told it was inappropriate to do jokes about people who suffer with hair loss and that I would upset people who have asthma. Has the world gone mad?

The punchline of the courtroom scene is, the guy he beat up, is Randall "Tex" Cobb: a former professional football player, and professional boxer! Al "Four touchdowns in one game" Bundy: a Gen X-ers hero. Oh, it wasn't about our tea being better, it was about the taxes on that tea.

The problem with the “greatest insults” videos is there are a lot of chicken jokes in them. If you haven’t seen the show from the very beginning you won’t get any of those jokes. The reason Al calls Marcy a chicken starts almost right away in the first season of the show and then the jokes continue for 11 years. I haven’t seen a single reactor that understands them.

"Kennedy's ALWAYS on the floor!" --A reference to the then-still-living U.S. Senator Edward Moore "Ted" Kennedy, younger brother of the late U.S. President John F. Kennedy. Sen. Ted Kennedy, though a highly-respected U.S. Senator for 47 years, was also known to party too much. It was one of those heavy-drinking nights in 1969 when on the night of July 18, a plastered Sen. Kennedy drove his car off a rickety bridge near his family estate into the Chappaquiddick River. He was able to extricate himself from the submerged car to swim ashore and walk home. Problem was, he left a passenger in the car, 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne [pronounced "Ko-PECK-Nee"], behind. Abandoned by Sen. Kennedy, she ultimately died of asphyxiation after several hours trapped in the upside-down car in 12 feet of water. [BY THE WAY: Sen. Ted Kennedy did not report this auto accident.....in which he left a young woman to die in the car alone.....for another 10 hours.] This horrifically tragic story would have garnered far more media attention than it did at the time were it not for what happened but two days later, on July 20, 1969: the U.S.A.'s very first time of landing a manned spacecraft on the Moon in NASA's Apollo 11 Lunar Mission, then bringing the Apollo 11 crew back to Earth alive and in one piece a few days later. Still to this day the greatest technological achievement in the 400,000-year history of the human race.

Hey pretty lady, how ya' doin' ? Fine Hope. I really do. Yea' I was born here in America and let me tell ya' something. I love wine. I hate beer and I hate that stupid stinking coffee and smoking horrible cigarettes. And nine times out of ten, anybody man or woman to be fortunate enough to live to get old gains weight. Your thing called metabolism slows down, your speech and ways of doing things. Some may call it the economy of nature, I call it using the Wisdom that the Good Lord gives us just for the asking. Sure none of us are perfect and we're all ignorant in one way, some way or another but ignorance is one thing and not learning from one mistakes is not only dumb and Stupid but also laziness, and neither are worth a flip. But anyway beautiful lady, I really enjoy looking at a lady and listening to a open minded woman who shows she's got good sense. Thank you so very much for playing one of my good ole' fashion shows, keep up the good work. Love ya'. Adios. Buena's Noches Mamacita. Buena's Noches. And oh yea' P.S.
