Man you have made my month! Been fighting with my stupid Impala for weeks trying to figure out the p0507 problem. Wasted time and money throwing new parts at it only to discover it was, like yours, the damn cruise control cable pulling too much on the throttle pulley. Idle went from 2500+ to 750 once I adjust the cable. Thank you!!!

When I took off my throttle body on my 01 5.3 to clean it, after putting it all back together this code came up. I tried cleaning the IAC again and squeaky cleaning the throttle body. But nothing. I remember when taking off the throttle body the cruise control cable was a little pain to take off and I remember thinking "take a mental note of how far it was screwed in", well I forgot about that mental note until your video reminded me of it. And sure as shit, that was it. My idle was around 650-700 when stopped, now it went back down to 550. My man, thank you. 👌👍

Having this same problem with my 01 5.3 suburban , re did head gasket and got the same code, it’s idling high , I lowered it but it’s at 1500rpm, but don’t know if that’s enough, seems to be steady, so is 550 the recommended setting? Thank you!

1997 5.7 had this issue after replacing my motor… this video helped me solve it

I think I have the same problem! I cleaned my throttle body a couple of months ago and had to tighten my cruse control wire. The cruse control wire is more taught than my throttle cable. Let me try this fix and see if the code goes away. If it does, I can pass the state emissions test and keep my chevy!

So my cruse control cable was definitely too tight. I adjusted it and instantly noticed an improvement in idle rpms. I cleared the codes and let's see if it stays off. Should be able to pass emissions by the end of the day! Thank you so much

My idle is all over the place can’t hardly even stop sometimes it 2500 rpm some other times be 1200 . Only thing I seen was map sensor. Voltage low when looked it was a bad wire but didn’t help and don’t have a lot of vacum ports but what I do have is no leaks . What can it be

Have a hp tuner and have gone thru tune a bunch of times to see what might causevthis but no luck yet

Most tunes assume that everything is OK before you put the tune on it what I would do is take and reset it back to factory drive it a few days and see if it shows any issues or check engine light

@@NobleAutomotive it won’t run on a stock tune , it has to big of cam , but I did find the map sensor wire was messed up

Hey can you help me? I went to go look at a 2000 4.8L Chevy Silverado. And whenever the truck was idling, it would drop then come back up. What does this mean?

Have you cleaned your Throttle body? Do you have a check engine light on?

@@NobleAutomotive it’s not mine I went to go look at it, and I don’t think he’s cleaned the throttle body and the check engine light is on.

@Juan-je4re Yes, we need to see what the check engine light is. And if the throttle body is dirty, then it is probably dropping below the base idle

Now I'm using a Toyota throttle body cleaner but it didn't matter as long as its specific to Throttle body cleaning

@@nanicasillas6492 no, actually the truck won't run with the air intake off because your mass airflow sensor just be cautious, not to get very much inside the intake.
