It looks awsome. I have one of those here in Brazil but it is diesel and 4x4. Great inspiration for my project.

@Carlton McCartney It is a 2.5l 4 cilinder turbo charged with intercooler. It is a completely mechanic engine no fucking eletronics to bother. In teory 115hp and 29kg engine. it is not super fast but does get the job done. Also here in Brazil we dont have emissions inspections so i had some fun with the injector pump also uped the boost from 1.1kg to 1.3kg. With those adjustments it is pretty good even with 33x12,5. It basically the same engine used on the Defender 300tdi

@Carlton McCartney oh I completely agree with you I could go on and on about this bs and much more fuck tesla too lmao, anyway I have a 93 4.0 4x4 supercab ranger with the classic interior and 2nd gen lights without the ugly new ranger blinkers, I got my siblings to all get 80's and 90's cars. and when shit hits the fan and all electronics go people won't even be able to drive their cars but we will haha
@uncrustable9923 Жыл бұрын
@Carlton McCartney exactly, electric cars use lithium batteries which is what my drill uses. when I forget my drill in the truck and it's 0 fahrenheit out the battery is weak or registers as dead and when it bring it in it has full power, I don't care if teslas have a battery heater it wastes your battery and will that heater last 30 or 40 years like my cars have? nope they're disposable tin can cars. I hate the ford lightning too, I wish they didn't ruin the f150 lineup also people think it's better because they don't have to pay for gas... I don't think a 220V charger on everyday is going to be cheap for your electric bill its the equivalent of a welder being used 24/7 lmao and when the powerplant overheated in California people couldn't use their cars because it was an overload or some shit
@uncrustable9923 Жыл бұрын
@Carlton McCartney I know, some liberal was ranting to me about the co2 climate change shit with cars, I said listen... every gas car has a catalytic converter and a bunch of emission restrictive crap and if you want to stop polluting you'll need to stop breathing because when a person breathes out they're literally breathing out co2 😂

My '99 2door had 33's, although they were 33x9.5x15 when that size was available. No rub. You can find 33x10.5x15 in some tires and you will have no rub. My '99 even had the 2.3l and ran great. I did change the rear end and had it regeared to 4.55:1 ratio in an 8.8" lsd rear.

Your 2.3 ran 33’s and ran great? Just picked up an 2003 2.3 and I’ve been thinking about lifting it and throwing on some 31’s but worried it won’t be able to handle it..
@jamesluke73774 жыл бұрын
@@lukescholey5872 it was a 2wd, lifted using lift spindles. Yes, it ran great. I did purchase a 8.8 junktard with a stock lsd and had it re geared to a 4.88 so to match the speedo, so it ran like a stock Ranger. Loads of easy fun.
@lukescholey58724 жыл бұрын
James Luke shops charge an arm and a leg out here in the Bay Area for regearing ($2k) so I’m just gonna throw on 31’s and hope for the best.. also planning on lifting it 3-5 inches. Would you recommend a body or spindle lift?
@exvndy2 жыл бұрын
Since you regeared it that's why you could run it. This truck had the 3.0l v6 and was tuned and was only ok. It definitely affected performance and I'm sure was hurting other suspension components. But they looked badass lol. I eventually put stock wheels on for a little and it ripped compared to the 33s. That's what I had was 33x10.5 and they rubbed. I even had the torsion bars fully cranked. This was also a trailhead model so you had a different front suspension setup.
@jamesluke73772 жыл бұрын
@@exvndy you are correct only partially regarding the regearing. It ran fine without regearing. The reason for regearing was solely based on the speedo usability. The actual point of my comment was the fact that I was able to have 0 rub issues. As far as my engine, it was a completely stock 2.5l 4 banger 5spd trans.

How does the lift work with torsion key if the 2wd doesn’t have torsion bar? I’m confused I have same truck 2000 I need lift it I have 32 inch tires and 2 inch coil spring spacers that make the control arms at a angle
@exvndy4 жыл бұрын
Good question, so year 2000 some ranger 2wd came with a torsion setup instead of coil spring. It’s called a Trailhead Its basically a model year 2000 Edge 2wd. Added appeal comes from the optional Trailhead Group options. Its a 2wd model with a torsion bar suspension and gives the truck the tough look of its 4x4 cousin. Ride height and ground clearance are different from that of conventional 2wd like yours. Explaining your confusion. The Trailhead sits higher on bigger tires easier than your coilspring setup you have. Its a pretty rare truck actually. Only was in year 2000 and with some of the 2wd produced.. no dealer really promoted these trailhead option rangers. Thanks for watching!
