I've been taping my regulator hose on for months now and with lots of rain lately, the tape isn't holding up in the humidity. This was so incredibly helpful my car is finally running well again! THANK YOU!

Haha. I feel parts should all have a label or number on them to be able to look them up and confirm you've the right thing. Some do, but most like this you're stuck using hand gestures and smoke signals trying to explain what you need to a teenage counter boy at the parts store. I mean pictures help, but if they don't know what it's called, now both of you are acting out a play for the manager trying to figure it out.

Mine's cracking, around the rubber lines/seals, pretty sure it's what set off my p1441 code, I had broken a peice of dry vacuum tubing and "fixed" it by putting in new vacuum line. I broke it while doing the LIM gaskets, 2 years ago. Now my janky repair has finally caught up with me, because that line is now dry rotten and cracking, causing a vacuum leak. Thanks for the part number and helpful video.

Putting the gas down disables the injectors and puts the car in flood mode, if it starts in flood mode there is excess gas in the combustion chamber

Have you ever had to replace the purge valve relay? And if so, what problems was it giving you that helped you come to that conclusion?
@badejenkins4 жыл бұрын
I did replace the purge valve relay. The car ran fine Anytime I added gas the car was hard to start. By “adding gas” I mean even a gallon or 15 gallons. Once the car did start it was fine until I added gas the next time. Once I replaced the purge valve I never had that problem again. Thanks for asking.
@ACAllen-zp1cq4 жыл бұрын
@@badejenkins ok cool...I sought a 2002 LeSabre for my son, and it won't start. If it does, only if I floor the gas pedal and keep pumping it while running. Soni just didn't know how much the purge valve affected it running before trying to change the fuel pump if I really don't have to. Other than that, it runs fine.

Don’t top off If you top off regularly the purge valve will go bad If you stop topping off the purge valve will last a life time. Once the pump stops just hang her up Don’t try to get another gallon or two in the tank or it will eventually make the purge valve to go bad.

Was this causing your car to misfire?
@badejenkins5 жыл бұрын
My car was not misfiring but I did notice power loss and did research to find out that a loss in fuel pressure could cause my symptoms so I found this vacuum assembly and it was actually snapped off but my Buick was still running but this stopped the small vacuum leak ECL that I was getting.

@badejenkins5 жыл бұрын
I don’t understand your question but this fix will restore pressure to the fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator if maybe you have a check engine code 0422. Sounds like you might have a fuel pressure regulator leak or a fuel line leak. I hope this helps. Good luck.
@badejenkins5 жыл бұрын
Just wanted to add something here. After obviously fixing the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator I was still getting the dreaded “gas cap loose” warning but no CEL. I had replaced the fuel pump sending unit assembly and had used the old gasket and old lock ring earlier because the new one I bought did not come with the replacement seals. Soooo I decided to replace the lock ring and seal with new ones and I will update later to see if this actually fixes the dreaded “gas cap loose” warning. You live and learn.

@robk96853 жыл бұрын
@@badejenkins Were you getting a stall after a warm start? My car starts/runs perfectly cold but I have to start it twice when already warm. I heard this could be the problem if that actual FPR valve is bad but haven't checked for leaks in that line yet. I have no codes stored.

Hi I sent you comment on my car ok
@badejenkins3 жыл бұрын
You may want to check your fuel purge valve. Is it hard to start after filling the fuel? Purge valve is located on top of the motor under the plastic shroud. The vacuum lines being replaced in this video brought back pressure to the fuel rail without pressure the motor just sucks it out of the fuel rail instead of it being pressurized and pushed into the motor.
