Thanks for this on the K1300s. Would love to see more on this model - spark plug replacement, brake fluid change, brake pad replacement and any other regular maintenance. Keep up the great work.

This is the only place I could find on the web (including owners manual) of how to check the oil level on a k1200s

** thoughts appreciated ** Pondering on getting another K - doing some research/forward thinking > there does not seem to be much on the market > exhaust systems - plenty of cans, but little in full systems. It's many years since I had my K12, and I can't remember if the OEM pipework was stainless or not? Used units on fleabay look to have some surface corrosion - which would suggest not. Are there other options 'out there', other than the crazy priced Akra systems? Granted, they last a long time - but if you're thinking of keeping a bike any length of time, these things warrant thought, particularly as the engines will sale past 150k miles

I always wonder if the min/max level for oil is assuming it's straight up or on the kickstand

Hi maybe do you know how tightly to tighten the oil cap an filter?

Awesome! that helped me today. Can someone please explain why bmw k1200s have a oil reservoir instead of wet sump? There got to be a reason for it I mean.

To najlepsze rozwiązanie ever

My K1200GT has some sort of screen inside the oil fill hole - it won’t come out and I can’t put a funnel in. Any thoughts? Great video!

No idea, sounds like a previous owner thing

BMW 🤦🏾♂️ why was it necessary to make this engine dry sump???? Just bought a K1200s, imagine my surprise when the previous owner explained this procedure to me. ZX12r, ZX14r, Hayabusa, Blackbird all wet sump, fast and bulletproof. Hope my machine remains trouble free but I’m sure it’s gonna teach me a thing or two.

I am new to the world of BMW. I just traded my 2020 Honda Gold Wing 2 weeks ago for a 2022 K 1600 Grand America. I have a question about which engine oil you use. It appears from the video that you are using Liqui Moly. My RIDER'S MANUAL for my 2022 K 1600 Grand America says the following: "Engine oil Specification: SAE 5W-40, API SJ/JASO MA2, Additives (for instance, molybdenum-based substances) are prohibited, because they would attack the coatings on engine components, BMW Motorrad recommends BMW Motorrad ADVANTEC Ultimate oil." Is there a reason that you use Liqui Moly, knowing that it contains molybdenum?
@TheBMWGuy Жыл бұрын
Liquimoly is a solid oil, I am dealer for them and it’s made in Germany. I am not a chemist but it’s what they recommend for the k bikes.
