I'm around 60 and still running my 03 cavalier , I will retire with it 😃 great gas saver , comfy , quick moving too! its my starter car Lol !_( not) , great engine , got the short ignition wires down in the engine cover , great performance design, I think some of it (engine)was designed in Switzerland , believe me they(volvo) know 🔧📚📐 how to build heavy equipment ! 🚙

I have an '03 Cavalier. Up until recently, it's been very reliable. However, it's getting to that point in every car lifespan where things start breaking all at once, and thus becoming a money pit. For a beginning driver on a budget, I recommend they get at least a 2009 economy car, ideally with as few miles as possible. It will cost more than an older car like a .03, but they're probably saving money down the road.

I've had a 1998/2001/2003 Love these little car's other then being a little boring their great cars oddly the 1998 was my favorite.

$2000-$3000??? We got a 2004 cavalier at the junkyard black 2 small dents clean frame clean body 2.2 ecotec 5spd with 80k miles and paperwork that said they replaced exhaust, battery, rocker panels and rear brakes for $1000 best damn thing. And we got 3 race cars 2 with clean frames and bodys and good running motors for less than $500 and 1 that the rear axl rotted out on. Idk where ya get the $2000-$3000 range at if you look around your looking at a $500-$1800 range at max. atleast here in ohio.
