What's better than an H pipe or an X pipe? Zipper pipe! A "Zipper Pipe" is something I came up with a few years ago that is basically a very long section of two pipes in a dual exhaust where the exhaust pulses from each bank of cylinders can "cross over" and "mingle" anywhere along the section, creating a unique, high-pitched sound. In my mind, a Zipper Pipe is an evolution of an X-pipe, just like the X-pipe was an evolution of an H-pipe.
This is on my 2003 Cobra. There are no mufflers with this setup, (muffler delete) as the Zipper pipe smoothes the sound out enough where mufflers aren't totally necessary.

I wonder if there would be a sound difference between this and an oval y pipe of the same length

Not sure. I'd argue this design bridges the gap between an X-pipe and a Y-pipe. Some really extensive testing is needed to know for sure.

@@Mustang-Geek if you go around to testing it on your own I'd be very interested to see if a oval pipe of the same width as those two pipes together would bring the same results or not, shoot I'd be interested just to hear the sound of an oval pipe within that dimension: length, width, etc.

@@tmanrogers95 It's interesting that 3rd and 4th Gen Camaros had Y-pipes, but they never sounded like this. Trucks do as well...but they also don't sound like this.

@@Mustang-Geek another interesting thought instead of cutting all the way down on each pipe, try leaving 4 in on each side almost like a zipper and fit them together that way, so example without drawing it out, 4-in of uncut on the left side 4-in of uncut on the right side 4-in of uncut on the left side 4-in on the right side and so on and so forth until you get the whole length and just throw one long bead down the pipe how you're normally welding it right now so when you look down inside of the pipe the cross section shows almost like an eyeball shape looking back at you it's really hard to explain this without drawing something I don't know if you'll understand what I'm meaning. It would still be completely free-flowing but almost causing like a side to side motion of the gases potentially?

Hey bro i know this is off topic but i was wondering if you can help, i bought a 03 mustang 5 speed gt, the day i got it, it was workin alright, but when i needed to change gears, i need to push the clush literally all the way in, feels like im rip the clutch of the floor, and im able to get it into first and stuff, fast foward two days later, and i completely cant put it into gear whats so ever, its not disengaging at all even while applying hella pressure all the way to the clutch , it doesnt have a firewall adjuster, it has stock plastic quadant i tried pullin up but nothing. I will that 3-4 inches its a little soft to push in and then it gets stiffer , previous owner said " stage 2" clutch it has ,any idea what it can be? Some have told me maybe gettin an adjustable clutch cable kit but im not shuree

I'd start by replacing the clutch cable. They wear out and are easy to replace. Then, do this other stuff: www.motortrend.com/how-to/1907-solving-common-fox-body-driveline-maladies/
