My main goal with this video was to show that its possible to replace a clutch on a k24 without having to remove the subframe. It saves you a lot of time and makes the whole job way easier!

OK lol I played it back a few times... basically if it clears from the intermediate shaft I should be Good!! without pulling the rt/axle all the way out! bout to give it a try! but I appreciate the info Man!!! i dont wanna MESS with that SUB FRAME AT ALL!!! (‘03 fwd/manual/element)

I have a 2004 Accord V6 6 Speed. And I will be doing this job this week to my car. I was driving at last week I parked the car to go into the store came back out and it was gone. I tried replacing the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder and I cannot get the car to build pressure and if it does it's not enough to get it into gear. So I'm suspecting that a throw out bearing or pressure plate died. I heard the six speeds are a lot more difficult to do because of less room. I do have an engine support bar that goes across the car so I might just drop the subframe, because I want to do the job properly and change out the rear main seals and input shaft seals while I'm in there.

I got this done by a garage. When I first drive the car in the morning there is no squeak.... After 5 min there is a squeak between 4mph and 10mph and as you drive the range of squeak increases e.g after 30 min, 4mph to 20mph. When hard accelerating you feal a small vibration.... When travelling at 50mph and hard accelerating the vibration is not so small. I'm sending the car back to the garage but has anyone got any clue why this would be ? I would be most appreciated listed for any knowledge, thanks, sincerely. Thank god people do these uploads, great job

If the noise started after they worked on it then its most likely something with the clutch or throw out bearing

You're welcome!.. but yea starter has to be removed because it bolts to the transmission

You dont really have to adjust anything, just use the alignment tool while installing the clutch and you should be good

Nice video. With the throwout bearing really chowdered like that was there damage to the input shaft housing on the transmission? Its only aluminum and the throwout bearing slides back and forth on it every time you shift gears. Thanks.

Is the v6 accord 6MT (2006) the same when it comes to not dropping the subframe to replace the clutch?

Yea same process. The accord in the video is a 6MT

@@ethans7395 I’m sure it will. Unfortunately for me around 256,000 miles a brand new battery from o’reillys had malfunctioned and caught fire. The car is now totaled.

these engines burn oil like you would not believe down a quart every 1000 miles. it is going somewhere. TSB says overspray on the block causes leaks. No blue smoke and no oil on the ground. have two vehicles with this motor and it the same thing.

Try replacing the pcv when it goes bad oil consumption tends to increase

@@RICHY6 one more question on passenger side axle were do I pry to pop it out it doesn’t look like u can get a screw driver in between thin plate on passenger axle to pop off

@@jf8322 I used a little pry bar but a screwdriver should work. You should be able to fit it between the axle and the plate that's how i pop the axles out

Yea we bought everything new… flywheel, clutch plate, pressure plate and throw out bearing

Old guy here... About 25 years ago I replaced the clutch on an 86 dodge Colt ... It seems like it was a lot harder than this job... I'm thinking about buying an 05 Accord that needs a clutch... Is it just the magic of video or was this relatively easy to do?

It takes a little bit of time getting everything out of the way to be able to separate the trans from the engine but its pretty straight forward, nothing out of the ordinary. If you end up getting the car and you run into any issues let me know il try to help you as much as i can🤙🏽
