Nice video. Thanks for posting. FYI, from what I've read and heard from the guys at the Honda shop, the dipstick is designed so that you get a true reading by not screwing back on.

You are correct! The oil reading should be taken without the dipstick screwed in, and should be between the two lines.

thank you very much your info is very helpful i got one for free it was under salt water for a week or more .i, am learning how to take it apart and clean and replace what ever it needs i,m still tearing it down. timing chain and head the lower oil was clean from day one just what got into the carb and top head area it WILL RUN AGAIN 2002 Honda fourtrax 500A WHAT A FANCY NAME THANK YOU

@Jason, rubber o rings are designed to be sealed multiple times, metal washer seals (like the one for the lower drain plug) are designed to be sealed once. (and should be replaced each time)

Dave Hoppes has made a comment that somehow I deleted: A huge help. What was the part number of the filter, also, what oil would you use for the Arizona summers. Thanks for the video My response: Search the web for "Honda foreman 2006 oil filter" There are a bunch of companies out there that make oil filters for your bike. I would stick with a major brand (like Honda or K+N) As for the oil: to handle AZ summers I would run a 10W40 or a 10W50.
