What's up everybody!
This is a DIY how-to on replacing the front struts on a 1st Gen. 2007-2017 Jeep Compass. Torque Specs included.
*DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a Master Tech, just a long time wrencher.
Car in video is a 2011 Jeep Compass Base

👍👍 thanks for the video our 2011 Jeep Compass has the original shocks and struts and stuff on it right now but we are fixing to change them out this video definitely helped

Thanks for the video! I just bought these same KYB Strut Plus assemblies for my Jeep Compass, but didn't install them yet. I'm just wondering how did it ride with them installed and was the ride height increased?

This actually wasn’t my vehicle, but just from seeing it after the job it looked pretty much the same to me. I know it drove better once they were installed though!

Is a front-end alignment required after front struts are replaced?

Technically yes, anytime a suspension component is replaced, its ideal to have the alignment checked/adjusted.

Would it be worth while installing camber bolts while there? Do they go in the top bolt spot?

They aren’t required to align it in its stock form, but if you have aftermarket suspension mods and or big wheel/tire setup you might need them.

where you fo find the torque specs? i need the torque specs for the rear wheel bearing hub nut.

180 FT.LBS. should be both front & rear hub nut torque spec.

Was the famous clunk the reason driving you to replace the struts?

It was more-so like a creaking I would say, & I was getting noise out of them upon manually moving the suspension components during diagnosing.
