Nice explanation of removal procedures for the electrical and hose connections. Those are often the hardest parts of a job like this.

Oh wow, I didn't realize that whole bracket came off. That's gonna be super helpful- the valve I need to replace is rusted into it. Thanks for the tip!

I have code p0443 evap system purge control valve circuit A, is this same fix? Your code was p0446 but seems like same part as code Im getting is it?

Is this same or similar code to P0455 you think? EVAP System Leak Detected? I know not same numbers but same area of fault it seems. Some work was just done to car to replace air intake hose and that plastic air intake and now this code popping. Maybe air intake canister is bad.

P0455 is a Large leak in the system, so it won't hold a vacuum for long. Usually a missing, loose, or broken gas cap, but could be a stuck open purge valve, cracked charcoal canister, or cracked line.

I'm wondering if you can help me. I have a 2007 cobalt with evap code. For the last couple years just before inspection to keep code from coming on I would fill gas tank and not let tank get below 3/4 full...drive it 60 miles or so...then get inspected. This is not working this year. What do I need to replace???

Not enough info here to guess. Take it to autozone and have them pull the DTC "code". See what they think will fix it.

Try a new gas cap, air filter, change oil and run a tank of gas with STP fuel injector cleaner. and change the purge valve if its bad

My engine light is still on. Now I haven't driven in yet though... Somebody else said you gotta drive like no 50 miles for the test to retest itself. Is this true?

I answered my own question lol. I've come back for anybody else that needs to know... I drove my car several miles & after the 3rd start it reset & went off. (1 test start & 2 driving) So yes you may have to drive it s bit to rerun the test.

@@ClickClack_Bam how long did you end up driving the car? I got my new purge valve put in 2 days ago and been going to work and back home but probably haven't driven 50 miles also probably a total over 2+ hours

where were you able to find the piece that broke off (white horse shoe that locks hose in) to replace it? Or what the heck is that even called? I've been looking everywhere and can't find that part.

Very hard to find these clips or repair kit. I went to a junk yard and went shopping. Temp fix is a wire tie.

i dont think you need the clip the hose should fit pretty snug on . you could wrap some electrical tape on it if you want.

OK I smell gas but don't see a leak there is rust on the lines? Any idea

fuel lines are plastic and some crack , this could be the fuel smell. most likely though its your evap cannister is clogged. when the gas evaporates so will the smell of gas. it will fix itself.
