Great video, thank you. I have a 2009 Grand Caravan with the basic stock AM/FM CD stereo. On the AM band, it intermittently buzzes so bad I can't listen to the radio. It buzzes when the engine is on & off, so I know its not electrical interference. Some days, I start up the van and the radio is quiet. Any ideas? Problem solved - my dashcam is causing the interference

I purchased my used 2010 T&C 3.5 yrs ago and it came with a permanent cd lol. I haven’t even thought about taking the radio out to get it. Thank you guys!!

Do these radios have security codes? The radio in question is the base Uconnect 130. I got the radio out of an 09 Caravan from a wreckers yard to replace a radio with issues in a 13 Caravan. Before I pull the radio out of the 13 I'd like to know if I have to hunt down the code for the radio from the 09.

I have a 2012 caravan, i broke the antenna white plug behind the radio.. can i change that small plastic part ? And i just purchased a 2009 radio will it fit on my 2012 caravan? Knowing my radio has an anti-theft in it and the 2009 doesnt. Thank you

Question - I have a 2010 Grand Caravan with the basic radio and overhead with just storage. My brother has the same year model with the video entertainment center and video screens above. He is junking his minivan. Is the wiring in place in mine to swap the entertainment center and the overhead video system?

Not sure. Some systems are easy enough to just swap the items or plug and play while others arent. I havent tried this before myself so I cant say for 100% sure.

I’ve been trying to get a CD out of my 2010 caravan for over a year now. The taped up credit card doesn’t seem to be working. Lol. Would I be able to get the CD out by removing the player from the console and taking it apart?

First step....having all the modules scanned for codes to see what might be going on. Then based on the codes found....we will have a direction to go in.

I have a 2010 town & country limited 4.0 with radio issues. It has the backup Camera, bluetooth, GPS and CD. Issue is....the radio randomly goes out! Black screen, no music, no Bluetooth or camera. Sometimes the screen is black and I still have music and back up camera, other times the screen is lit up but no sound and camera doesn't work. Sometimes it'll last for 2 minutes, sometimes it's 45 minutes. I can go a week with no issues and then I can have 20 problems in one day. I pulled the radio out and double-checked all the plugs to make sure they were firmly attached and everything seems good behind the radio. Is there a way to check if the radio is bad or if the wiring is bad? Vehicle was in Texas for 5 years and Minnesota the last 5. It has all sorts of gremlins that I'm working out, but the radio has me baffled. Any insight? This is driving me nuts! Thank you!

I know this video is old, but would this work with a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country 4.0 Limited Edition it has a DVD player, I don't drive it myself. My girl & my son's do, to back to school , Dr. Appts. It gradually started turning off & on. Everything else works, it's just the radio & dvd player that doesn't anymore. I've battery reset it & pulled the fuse, to no avail. It's not exactly the one shown in the video (it's an actual touchscreen), hardly anything worked on the touch. It drives them crazy, not be able to hear anything. 😂

I dont know for sure....I deal with just the OEM radios. Been almost 20 years since I use to install aftermarket radios.

Only way to get the CD out is to completely take apart the radio once its removed. I havent done a video on that so I am sorry I cant get you more details on that.

It will be even easier. All you have to do is remove the plastic trim around the radio and you are there! I guess I need to do a video in the future for that repair when I get some time. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe

is there any way to keep the steering wheel radio controls along with the rear VES worth buying an aftermarket radio...I found a harness on crutchfield but that only let's me keep the controls but not my rear ves..help please

+Tom Pajak I haven't had the chance to deal with this as of yet. I usually always have to deal with OEM systems and rarely have any dealings with the aftermarket radios. I wish I knew more about it and could help you further but I have never come across it as yet.

+Tom Pajak Try the Axxess ASWC-1. It works on most cars with most aftermarket decks. Its what I used on my Subaru and a Pioneer deck. axxessinterfaces.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11&products_id=197

My radio/DVD system won't work anymore. Sometimes the green ring around the power/ volume knob blinks, but the screen doesn't turn on. I think I have had the radio randomly start working again, but mostly it doesn't. I pulled out the radio to check the connections and they all seemed secure, at least on the ends that connect into the radio unit (didn't trace the other ends). Any idea what could cause this behavior?

@@MotorCityMechanic Thanks for the reply! I'm looking at replacements online now. How do I make sure I get one that works with my 2008 caravan? Mine says "P05064245AK". It has a hard drive, an LCD screen, and works with the front and back flip-down screens and DVDs I've seen a bunch of other stock ones that look like it, and seem to have the same connectors on them, but the model numbers end in different letters, and even the ones that are the same number have a sticker on one corner that is different from the number mine has stuck on it (e.g. "9.110") so I don't know if they're 100% compatible. Someone told me I might need to take it in to the dealership to be reprogrammed if I buy one of those. And those are just the stock ones. I've also seen those aftermarket Android ones... Any tips on this?

I just noticed another odd thing this radio is doing; when I turn on one of the front overhead reading lights, the lights on the radio buttons blink on then off, and I can hear the disc motor, but the screen still doesn't turn on, there's no audio, the buttons don't light up again and the disc motor stops.

Yes I do. There's a chip on the board that's failing. Soon, NO volume will work

Carrie Ritts you will have access to the radio at that point. That means all the fasteners that need to be removed to get all the covers off so you can get to the inside of it. I haven’t taken one apart do I don’t know all the steps needed to get to the point where you can remove the CD.

You will need to buy an adapter for single-DIN. For Double-DIN, you will need to saw out a metal support bracket. More info from crutchfield: www.crutchfield.com/S-qH8LlIusMQY/learn/2008-dodge-caravan.html

Is this the same as a model with the navi screen? I'm going to a scrap yard to rip a stock navigation system out of a caravan, will the navi go right in where a stock head unit was like you just removed?

Behind the bezel it will fit. Just make sure to remove and take the bezel with you that goes around the video. Other issues is that some have external GPS antennas so it may need to be retrieved as well.

They make no mention of where it is on the vehicle so just look for additional cables on the back of the radio and take what ever you need to goes to incase.

Is that u-connect inside the radio or is that another part?

If the radio has navigation that then everything is made into the radio. If not then the hands free module (older version of u-connect) is located under the steering column area. Back then it really wasnt called u-connect. On newer vehicles u-connect took on a bigger role and included alot of other items other then handsfree.

+lalo nevarez Evening, the first thing I want you to try is what they call a manual power down. Disconnect both battery cables and hold the terminal ends on the cables together for about 2 minutes and then reconnect them. Then recheck the radio to see if it started working.
