The official way by Ford is to put it on a lift and get it out the bottom. You undo 4 Bolts for the radiator support brace and 2 bolts that hold the radiator to the AC condenser, undo the electrical connector and it comes out. I can do these in about 20 minutes

you have a lift in your back yard at home bro? if everyone did i’m sure every job would be 30 minutes easier for anyone with just basic equipment at HOME with their only good tools being their knowledge.

When you bought the radiator did it come with the plastic corner piece on the driver side that the hose is connected to? Where you took the clip off

Key part is to remove 2 (8mm) bolts on the front of the each side of the condenser that connects condenser to the radiator. Took me a few minutes to find those

I am having trouble with the upper hose connection leaking on a 2009 SES, OEM was leaking, had to replace with a Gates, only option that day, Gates leaked also, ordered a Motorcraft to try next, the design is really stupid imo. Any advice or tips on getting that stupid elbow connection to not leak?

All good and helpful except those TYC radiators are crap ! They leak after about 10k miles. Spectra + brand is the way to go if you want it to last. Also, I see green antifreeze being used to refill the coolong system. The fluid Ford says that should be used is their Gold formula or a GO5 gold equivalent. This is a phosphate free formula required for these engines. Also, Do Not use regular tap water. Use only filtered water or distilled water when needed.

Good video. On these focuses the top hose always gets hot. It’s the lower hose that tells you the thermostat is open or working. The lower hose should be cold after a few mins at idle but the upset should be getting hot. When the lower hose gets warm you know the thermostats opened. If the lower hose heated up at the same time as the upper you know your thermostat is stuck open which is common on these cars.

Don't you technically void the warranty by installing the rad without flushing the cooling system?

I use a 50/50 peak coolant on my 2011 Ford Fusion as well.I just did a system flush a week ago. There is a special kind of Peak coolant to use for newer vehicles which the coolant has a particular additive in it to give the car engine and radiator better performance and longetivity that's suppose to last throughout the hot and cold seasons with minimum of overheating issues if theres no other mechanical problems...

Holy crap that's a lot of stuff to do just to get out the radiator. There has to be a better way to engineer a car than this. Unfortunately most today are built a lot like this one. As I have said before---I want my 54 chevy back.
