How to diagnose, and replace a blower motor on a Ford Escape, or Mercury Mariner. This is also the same blower for 2008-2010 F-250 350 450 550 trucks. 2009 2011. Heater a/c air conditioning fan

You saved my bacon. Replaced the resistor and it only intermittently improved the performance, but was definitely out regardless and in need of replacement. The mallet was the answer! One tiny tap and BAM, blower was blowing 100%. Now I know the motor is going out but you have given me full confidence for that job. Thank you

The resistor screws are 8mm - just changed one yesterday.

Just to add some info: if you only have fans on setting 4, it’s prob the resistor. If no fan settings work, prob the blower motor. I can also confirm that sometimes hitting it with a hammer makes the motor work sometimes

YES! mine only works on setting 3 or higher.. so I gotta do that too! TY!

Forget the mallet, ask your wife sitting at the passenger's side to kick the blower 3 time and... BINGO!😂

Mine seems stuck. None of the parts budge. And I can't get the electrical connector loose. But my tugging and pulling on it somehow got it running again

Would it be possible to do this even if it works on the 3 and 4 air fan and not the 1 and 2?

@@enriquequesada4984 most newer cars either have one, or there is a cutout in the HVAC ducktwork, so you can add one. Not sure about this car.

I just did my first ever no-tools-needed blower motor on a a GM. BTW--the proper term is BASH test. The bash test worked so I didn't even need a test light.

Hi! Barb from Wi here! Not sure what I need to do, I turn on blower to 3 and it vibrates ,worked untill a month ago..I can't afford to take it into have it looked at...I am pretty sure I can do it my self if shown here...do I need to take the whole glove box and stuff to just look at it to see why it vibrates? It will push out some warm air...some one mentioned a mouse may have got caught up in there..lol..tyvm!!!

ok, I got the blower off and it was full of stuff from a tree...no signs of critters at all! Pretty clean actually..just full of these round little things from tree. got them all out..put it all back together and BAM! All good, no more loud noise! THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO!!!

@@oitsbarb55 you might want to see if you have a cabin filter. It may have a big hole in it.
