@@SalemTechsperts Its expensive for the cause it's marketing, you get a laptop with the specs that can be bought online from any vendor at around 1400$ at 2300$ (modest configuration) and the points they are pitching like the upgradablilty of core components such as the CPU and GPU are pure bullshit. You are locked to the company for the new components that are needed for the upgrade and just the thought of buying a 2000$+ gpu module for a laptop 4 years old is unlogical as with like a extra 200$ investment you could get a whole new laptop out of the box and it will not have any of the wear and tear that the 4yr old framework has. This concept was best made for productivity focused machines as there is no real incentive to upgrade them to oblivion.

@@the_legendary_poseidondude if u dont want the laptop just dont buy it there are like a bunch of diffrent laptop manufacturers Also framework reduces the cost of laptops cause if u need to upgrade u can just swap the mobo or if u want to change the battery or io port in the laptop u can . U can get better performance every year by swapping the mobo and make it feel brand new by changing some other parts instead of buying a new laptop altogether.

@@SalemTechsperts yes the quality of them are kinda ass ive got friends, the reason you see tech reviewers and most north american folks but im in south east asia and my friends that have frame works all dumped them after a few months cuz just they are very overprices and are sometimes finicky like weakframes or connectors breaking from light ussage, so we dont know much yet about the 16 inch cuz everything seems cool but dont trust tech reviewers like linus yet cuz 13 inch did not do so well and this is a new product line so just keep away from them, thats why ive been sticking the thinkpads all my life cuz ik that they will last (cuz i kinda beat the living crap outa all of them and they all surive it) so if you actually wanna get one then just remember to have a deep cash pool to dive into if stuff breaks

Yeah, the new Latitudes are built out of the cheapest plastic known to man, and will crack and crumble if you so much as look at it too hard. You could toss the old Latitudes out of a 2nd story window and it would still look and run just fine.

absolutely agree with you, laptops 8-10 years ago were built so much better than nowadays… even apples macbook pros from 2010-2015 were built so much better, the 2011 ones had phillips head screws with expandable memory and quick replace batteries, my mac air i abused for school from 2016 lasted until 2022 and boy did i run it hard, i switched to my mums old 2013 mac air she stopped using and that thing is still working to this day.

I had a Dell Inspiron 5500. It had a nice design. At the end of 10 years of daily use it looked exactly like it did the day bought it. The hinges stayed tight unlike the 6500, it's successor, where the hinges fell apart after 6 years.
