Hello, in this video I show how I plan to address the hesitation from idle that my 2008 WR250R has. Its mainly noticeable when getting on it from when the bike is idling. There is a mode Yamaha put into these bikes that you can get to and adjust the idle-15% or so throttle mixture. I made mine a little more rich. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Update: this seemed to take care of the jerkiness when coming off idle, but there is still a hesitation if I get on it a lot from idle. I ended up leaving mine set at 15 which is high, but made the most difference to me. This is very helpful, thanks. Just got 2009 (EU) and it goes to CO mode, but 10 is default value. If i set it lower, the bike hesitates and idle is too low. If i set it too much positive, for example 20, the bike backfires when lifting the throttle.

I ended up putting the setting back to where it was originally and putting a booster plug on it. That seemed to help the low end a little, but the bike still bogs a bit if i try to really get on it at a low speed. Ive learned to live with it for now, but there are other things that i could do to help it more.

I actually haven’t done much with it in regards to this since this video. I want to try a booster plug its called. It basically runs the bike more rich through most of its rpm curve. It does it based off the ambient temp it is telling the bike. I could go to the co mode without grounding the lean sensor is that normal?

Your guess is as good as mine. Are you sure the previous owner didnt already do that on yours?

Yes I checked, only 3 wires. Maybe because it's an EU bike?

Not sure what you have, but if yours is an X, those don't require it.

mine goes from -128 to +126, is that normal?

Perfectly normal for AU and JP models. With that said, changes should be made in ±5 increments then fine tune from there.

If you are not running 90+ octane gas it will hesitate on throttle or AIS smog control on air box...

When you get a code just call your Yamaha dealer and they can tell you for sure...
