Hopefully everyone appreciates you sharing your time and effort to create these presentations, as simple as the subject may ( or not ) be, I really look forward to watching your diagnostic conclusions, even though I'm not a Ford guy, I still appreciate your skills and effort, I still can't believe in this day and age that technicians are still cramming oversized test leads or objects into harness connections? Remember, if the pin don't fit, you must Quit! Sorry, goofy but true

I really like the method. On non Fords we can use a scan tool to activate the compressor. I like your trusty window motor. I remember that one from the old old days. Back when u used to use your little Bosch for almost everything. I have a little old SnapOn someone gave me for the quick light stuff. The trigger is forward and reverse. It’s small and really light. Everything else is the Milwaukee ratchets. I use four of them. The extended one is super powerful and it gets everywhere.

Typically, but not always, if the rubber donut goes the compressor is on its way out & is creating so much drag that it eventually shears the rubber in two. If your compressor was loud/rattly before it happened, do yourself a favor & change it.

I have a '17 Transit 150 with the 3.7 and it has "warm" A/C issues. L/S, H/S pressures are good and compressor is coming on, but I've had a few of the micro cartridge fuses for the electric fans blow, so I replaced them with ones from O'Riely's, but their fuses look like they're almost blown. Is it best to get the Motorcraft fuses for this? Are the Bussman ones garbage?

Awesome video Brian. I have an issue with an 05 FX4 150. Had it at the garage this week and he couldn't figure it out. My CEL came on back in December and had it checked out. Said it was something with my a/c. Cleared the code to get the CEL light to go out but now have no a/c. Have no idea what the code was or where to begin. Going to test the diode and relay tomorrow, but all fuses are good. (Pulled them out and checked) The fellow this week told me he couldn't get power to the compressor plug and said it could be the PCM. Still has original compressor on it and figured that's what it was. Any ideas please? Thank u in advance

I got a 2014 F150 I am working on now and it came to me with a low charge. Previous diagnosis by the dealership said he needed a new A/C Condenser. After recovering the refrigerant and pumping it down and adding tracer dye and oil it held good vacuum for about 20 minutes. I charged by weight at 1.5 lbs and it was blowing cold at 48 degrees with an outside temperature of 90 with high humidity in Tampa. I also replaced the blower motor at the customers request because he feels the air does not blow hard enough. My first question is since it came from another repair facility and was low on refrigerant is if there was a refrigerant leak with this system from your experience where do I sniff it out at with my electronic sniffer and if there is an airflow issue where do I look. Another question is does this vehicle have a cabin air filter? Thank you and always a follower of your great videos. Thank you Richards Auto and Air

I'm still trying to figure out a poor A/C performance issue on my 09 expedition. It seems to cut out at highway speeds, put the gauges on it and it seems to hit the high limit and cut the compressor off, and the air gets warm until the compressor kicks back on. It cycles warm/cool continuously while driving, never really gets cold. It's been evacuated and recharged to proper level, I've replaced both expansion valves, and fan clutch, fan just always seems to be freewheeling even with A/C on, same issue with new fan clutch, my next part to throw at it will be the condenser, i'm at a loss here. If i continue this way, soon i'll have a completely new A/C system.

Thanks for the videos. Question: 2010 F150 FX4 5.4L V8 w/ automatic climate control. A/C stopped working a couple of years ago. Finally got it diagnosed and needed a new compressor. New compressor has been installed, system charged to 58, new A/C pressure transducer, relays are good, fuses are good, put in a new blower motor resistor today, climate control cluster is functioning properly, had a second mechanic check PCM and control would send signal to turn on clutch, but it went from ON to immediately OFF. I brought it home and ran the Key On Engine Off test and clutch engaged just fine. Used Forscan to run the HVAC test and no faults. No HVAC DTC faults either. Wondering if you have any suggestions on my issue (other than "give and up and sweat out the Texas Summer, buddy"). I did pull get the ProDemand schematic for my VIN number and page 2 of 3 shows the Instrument Cluster on MS CAN 10 and 9 on Computer Data Lines running to the PCM HS CAN - 43 and HS CAN + 59 (If you read this entire thing, thank you already for your time)

Hey just out of a curiousity have you every had a no power to AC clutch, clutch can be powered up separately, no issues with pressure, low pressure cycle switch replaced, ambient temp replaced, AC clutch relay and all fuses replaced just in case. The relay clicks when the AC request is made, but no power is getting to the AC clutch. Ford dealership wants to replace the compressor, which I ask: ok if the compressor is bad, please tell me how you know, and if we replace it please tell me how you know it will get power? Just curious as I can't seem to find a high pressure sensor listed in any diagram, and I am curious as to how the EVDC sensor factors in? Thanks, your videos about diagnosing components helped out and showed no power was getting to the clutch. Tech didn't even test the AC clutch, just immediately went to replace the compressor, despite being told that another shop tested everything and couldn't figure out the now power to the clutch issue.
