Got a 2009 Sonata with a bad motor.

Keep us posted. Surprising issue - don't often hear about modern Hyundai engine problems. I had a 2002 Elantra for 11 years that I beat the daylights out of -- thing seemed indestructible -- one of the best cars I ever had.

My 2013 Kia (same engine) was just replaced on a recall. 125,000 miles. It had the same noise as this one was making

It's not the same engine, this is a DOHC that was made with help by Toyota-Lexus. Your 2013 has a 2.4 GDI, the DOHC is the superior engine

@@marcusmariota421 wait actually? i have a 2008 gls with the 2.4 cylinder. that would make me feel much better about the engine.

@@CrowJamz the 2008 is literally Bulletproof. Its the best possible engine DOHC that was made in Korea with help by Lexus Engineers

Typical tick. OMG that rust though. I have 175k she's a bit quieter in my forte than the one you're working on. Yours cleaner than mines though

@@themarginalmechanic5928 the 2.4s tend to make that sound especially on cold starts when they age. just a a bit less it's good to know what's causing it. Good video

It was a Mitsubishi design but it’s built by Hyundai. The ones built by Mitsubishi and Chrysler are better made.

Every bearing on that engine is bad ,it a common issue

I'm sorry the car was a running car on the highway when the engine bearing let go there's no corrosion. There's a lack of oil and a meltdown

@@themarginalmechanic5928 In my country this car is 25% of the total cars ,it suffers from bearing issues ,it became common that we don't rev the car more that 2k rpm ,used engines are very cheap from scrap yards .

Oh my God you know what's so funny. I swear you're first comment indicated it was corrosion. I was like there's no way there's corrosion inside an engine that's been running but now that I see it's not what you said so I apologize.
